Keith Olbermann let it rip tonight

Rate: 7 Flag

Keith Olbermann let it rip tonight on Countdown.  Cry?  Yep. Laugh? At the futility, the stupidity of our government?  I can't decide what to do.  I am so outraged and overwrought by the decision to escalate in Afghanistan.

After we all worked to elect Obama, after we all endured Reagan (don't get me started) and Clinton (Bosnia) and Bush (arrogant, elitist, blind, lying warmonger) - finally a chance?  A possibility of peace?

This will take the rest of my life to fight; I've been against war since Vietnam, when I was in high school.  Now my kids and grandkids lives will be shaped by war.  God help us all.

Wish I knew how to put a video in.

Also, Keith got something wrong - Eisenhower called it the "Military/Industrial/Congressional Complex." The 'congressional' part always got left out, until everyone just used the first part. Makes too much sense now, don't it?
Capitalism has a war complex. It likes it, much.
Seems like every generation is shaped by war. Tragic.

So, videos -- on youtube, click the text that's in the "embed" window and copy it. Then, in your post, you click the "html" button when and a box comes up with the source code -- you paste the "embed" stuff you copied in there and it should work.

Yeah, Obama had a chance to do something risky -- like REALLY oppose war as opposed to "opposing" it when you have no power to do anything about it (as he did with Iraq). But instead, more of same.
So when do we march on Washington? Did it during Vietnam and ready to do it again.
Grif - and all - join WCW on FB and OS; Steering committee members Jill McLaughlin, Emma Kaplan, and Dennis Loo are all on OS - 'fave' them.

There are marches on Fed. Bldgs in 40 cities Dec 2! Also check Mike Moore's site. He's linked in with WCW.

That is JUST what we need - something big, and huge, and freeway-stopping. SHOPPING-stopping would be even better!

I live 2 hrs south of DC and will be there with bells on.
Hey thanks dragonlady for pointing people into the direction of resistance to the crimes of our government. The world needs this movement-this culture of resistance to grow!
This late but just for the record. I supported Obama in the primaries. I am now totally disgusted with him. He is a Republican-Lite president like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Hillary would have been the same or worse. I am also totally disgusted with the Democratic Party but the alternative is much worse. A party that can't reign in someone like Rep. Bart Stupid from MI is not really a political party. It is some sort of social club.
