Happy Halloween Chicken Check-in

Rate: 5 Flag

chickenparanormal

What can I say - the chickens just speak to me these days. I had hoped after graduation I would be able to spend more time on OS reading, responding, and writing thoughtful, polished essays but alas - I have become the couch-bound chicken in my spare time. Part of this is due to the intensity of my work as a new nurse, which I love, but which drains me physically and mentally most days (especially the 12 hr shifts). And part of it is due to the reality of my life which at the moment consists of a husband disabled by back injury and chronic pain, a highly social daughter in middle school, and a son who is needing to be homeschooled this year because of non-epileptic seizures (anyone with knowledge or experience with this puzzling condition please e-mail me). My plate is full to say the least, but I still miss OS and the wonderful, creative, fabulous writers that I have met here. Hopefully someday I will be more than a ghostly presence - until then, best wishes to all for a Happy Halloween!

WOW! Damned good to see you Okie. Damned good.

Health care is rewarding, but GAWD is it demanding!!!! I recall many, many nights coming home, just feeling and playing like a zombie.

I'm glad you're happy, just don't let it kill you :-)
Thanks Bob! Good to see you too - I can definitely relate to the zombielike feeling!
How dare you neglect OS in favor of your personal life? Ah well, I'm always glad to see ya whenever you pop in and say "boo." I've known (still do) quite a few people in the health care field, and it does take a toll on you. Here's to your husband and your son getting better soon, and to a Happy Samhain for you all.
Any time you check in is a great day for OS. I love you, dahlink. Good luck with all that you are dealing with - I know you will manage with love and fortitude. Write about it when you feel like it - until then, know that you are so admired and loved here.
Also, there's a GOP funded ad on your blog that is against Deval Patrick. I don't think you support it.
diva! Very good to see you. Good news, not so good news. Glad about the new job and hope for pain relief for your husband!
Thanks, nanate - now that you've addressed the threatening toner cartridge crisis, would you please speak to management about the NFL spammer takeover this weekend?

Aim - so appreciate the kind words. Seeing your comment really made me smile! (the GOP funded ad does NOT make me smile, however)

Trig - thanks for the healing thoughts - sure hope my husband can find some relief soon.
