Most bloggers, Few writers

Rate: 2 Flag

We go through three ages: the book age, the TV age and now the Information age. And one thing that never changed is that we are readers all the time. We read books, then TV shows, and now Internet. The most interesting part, however, is what have changed.

In the book age, only those distinctive, sharp and sapiential minds could be great writers. In the following one, people attractive, pulchritudinous as well as slim got on the screen and began our star-workshipping epoch. Nowadays, it seems that we could for the first time be more than readers. We have blogs and we can write and show us.

Decades ago, we hide ourselves in the diaries, which we don't want anyone to see. Later on, we hide in our houses to watch TV, where the actors don't know our existence. Now we at last turn up. It's our show time and somebody say that everyone can be writers. Indeed, we have our family, friends and friends-will-be backing up.

The truth is most of us are bloggers instead of writers. The world is ours but the stage is for the few.

I have this friend who were inspired by the legend that some bloggers became "shining" writers and kept blogging for nearly five yeas. Look at him now. He's still a blogger, be not able to make a living by writing.

The point of my view is that everyone can write does not mean everyone can be writers. It is advisable to find out what the bloggers are aiming at--- earning a living, gaining fame or just write open diaries. The whole question is probably that we have never essentially changed: we are readers all the time.

But do we read less because we write more? Something that is currently puzzling me.
How could you read less in this information explosion age? It is possible, however, that we had trouble in finding something relevant to our problem and something really worth reading, while we are bombarded with more information available.
And I think it's a good thing to read less and write more, which indicate we think ---- we cannot write well if we don't think with our heart. It means we open our mind.
