Turkeys

Rate: 7 Flag

I normally don’t like to draw cartoons like this. I’m usually a stickler for at least explaining why I don’t care for a politician or a party or a political idea in a cartoon rather than just ridiculing him/her/it. But, after watching a series of debates between the laughably absurd cast of characters running for the Republican nomination, there’s almost too much to make fun of. Rick Perry’s stumbles, Herman Cain’s serial women problems and worse geography issues, Newt Gingrich’s heavy baggage, and Mitt Romney’s flip-flops lead me to believe that not one of these guys is a serious candidate. Mitt gets something of a pass, given that he’s at least a serious campaigner and a supposedly smart guy, even if he doesn’t know what he stands for from one minute to the next, but all-in-all, it’s hard to believe that this is the best a serious political party can give us.
