Brad Blakeman's Mocking Obama's Trip "To Go Visit Grandma" Earns Obama Campaign $5,000 Since Last Night $8,000 in 4 Days and Still Counting...$8.60 (or More) at a Time
On Thursday, October 23, GOP strategist Brad Blakeman, appearing on MSNBC, took the extraordinary malicious step of openly mocking Sen. Obama's recent trip to Hawaii to visit his gravely ill grandmother.
Since then, in a manner of speaking, Blakeman has donated $8,000 to the Obama-Biden campaign...and counting.
The remarks made by Blakeman on MSNBC, mocking Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, has earned the Obama campaign $8,000 in 4 days, and still counting, through a special Obama-Biden donation webpage created in response, asking visitors to donate $8.60 in honor of Madelyn Lee Payne Dumham's 86th birthday on October 26.
The donation page URL appears here on the official Obama-Biden campaign website:

Blakeman then made his remarks to MSNBC anchor David Schuster in an effort to deflect criticism of the RNC spending $150,000 in clothing for GOP VP candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. Blakeman claimed "the real outrage" was Senator Obama "taking a 767 campaign plane to go visit Grandma," a reference to Obama's urgent trip to visit his gravely ill grandmother.
Many people were outraged by Blakeman's remarks, believing Blakeman crossed a line, making light of Obama's grandmother's very serious illness, coupled with an offensive tenor to his remarks ("go visit GRANDMA").
Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham, remains gravely ill and is just days away from her 86th birthday (Oct. 26). With her 86th birthday in mind, the donation page asks visitors to donate $8.60, or any multiple of $8.60, to the Obama-Biden campaign right now.
Making a donation of $8.60 or more will send a little message to Mr. Blakeman, and, far more importantly, make a donation specifically in honor of Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham.
Again, the donation page URL is:
