Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover

Don’t judge a book by its cover

lest you miss chapter three

where all things deep and mysterious

it’s clear

by chapters seven through eleven

that clarity will come later,

you must refrain from judging too soon,

you thought you knew; it’s true,

the cover misled your view,

yet the final pages

reveal the notions you formed
before reading page one

were woefully wrong,

you judged too soon

before you knew

the truth behind the cover.

Rita, you must be submitting this through magic as I did not see you on the side until now hiding.
People judge me by my cover sometimes and if they took the time to read chapter two they would see I am a lot of people like most folks are.
I have never judged like that and have read the most delightful tales inside.
Good words
People would miss so much if they judged you too quickly. You are a gem!
how true this is!! but let the judges, be ultimately judged...those who take the time to know me, realize there is much more than an aging face and narrowed eyes.
A thoughtful, well-written reminder. R
I feel that way with people who have met me! Then there's the sequel and the prequel, etc, etc, etc. :)
I do choose books by the covers sometimes, and usually they disappoint.
