Remembering Visions Through Photography

An elderly blind woman named Etta taps my hand lightly as I sit next to her at the bus stop.  She tells me the world has been a  dark place most of her life and asks me to tell her what I see.

bpicokcroppedos

I explain to her that the world can still be a black and white place.

achiarsos

Or it can be filled with colour depending on what you really want to see.

abevelhouse

The world is still full of all sorts of shapes and sizes.

  ahollowm2a

But some need to look again to see if they saw correctly.

aegsgsos

People still see things larger than life and so they deal with them the same way.

amybeaos

There are still people that try to make the world a better place by seeking peace.

ohcanadaos

Visual horror of countries at war still roam our media outlets but harmonious peace and beauty still can be found.

   aprupell

I watch as people still look to the sky for the mysteries of life.

aaflowersss

Yet if they looked closely the answers would be there in front of them.

goodclownos

There are still people that make others smile.

ahit

And some don't have to try at all.

ahorsegoodos

Tranquility still lies  in the country.

alolaos

And Lola the showgirl is still is able to graze at leisure in her field.

abigtreeos

The vibrant colour of nature still exists even though people abuse it.

anick

Colourful personalities  of mystery and wonder still hide in nooks and crannies.

aglenos

There are still things in life that still do not make sense.

aredddos

Red is still the colour of love and passion.

stainednewcros

But it still takes all the colours of the world to make perfection.

rambling rosesos

Roses still ramble in beauty and their frangrance fills the air.

aumbrellaos

People still do the strangest things.

aperthtower

And strange buildings built years ago still exist and have no answers.

bird2os

I tell  Etta that I take photographs so people will always be able to see what I  saw through my eyes. As I give her a hug I tell her to close her eyes and remember; because everything is still beautiful- if you let it.

For some reason this made me well up in tears this morning. Your beautiful and unique outlook on life and the people you come in contact with are inspirational. The song was a beautiful choice to accompany the photos that were given a different perspective than your original use of them. Loved this, Linda!
Well I will be posting Tuesday Schmoopie thanks to the prodding of Kevin.. Some of these won photo of the day on another site and who knew I could take pics..:) I just snap what I feel.
HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
You really have a marvelous Eye, Linda.
PS Pleased you're here blogging. r
Tuesdays jon like a KFC special hahaha
Linda- I love them, and so do my kids. It's been cool to get to share this beauty with them. They especially like the pup in the backpack and the glass store. Be well.
Kudos, Linda! The first photo is stunning and a wonderful lead to this article. And thanks to lschmoopie for saying it so well.
Such beautiful photos and a lovely poem between them.
I love to see your posts here. It feels like I am home.
rated with love
Rei: I got into the photography because of a bad right eye. I really wanted to preserve what I saw for my kids..

Catherine: Etta is a lovely woman. It is a amazing who you can meet when you are not riding in a car.
RP: everything you say even in comments comes out like flowing tranquil water..:) seriously.. you are the grand dame:)
I love this post, great photos and words.
Fun photos! Thanks for sharing!
Swept me away with this, Linda. So many things to like. Your ingenious way of introduction, your keen eye for the off-beat, wonderful photography, sense of humor, heart bursting with love...much more, but my fingers are getting tired typing. Brava!
You've shown Etta a world full of wonders through your eyes, Linda. May more people see it your way! Lovely post and wonderful to see you here.
♥R
Yeah! Linda is back. I enjoyed this photo journey and the captions very much. Creative way to introduce it all. My favorite was the Bay Bridge for some reason which I can't explain. You are an artist with a natural artist's eye and view of things. Keep flicking, embrace the sunshine and ignore the noise.
Nice work, Linda. Makes you think and appreciate.
SO beautiful, to see the world through your eyes. It is a wonderful place full of color, brightness and hugs....
Loved the red horse trailer photo the most! Though they all had a story to tell, that you tell so well! Great post and treat for the eyes and soul! xo
Kevin: thanks for being my friend and speaking honestly with me about the things I do. When you say you don't care for something I listen.. Friends listen to friends..

Susie: HUGGGGGGGGGGG

Chicken Maan: Photography to me is like writing. If I cannot be me then I want no part of it...I put my soul into what I do because I have nothing more to give to the people, writers etc that I care about. But I can give myself. HUGGGGGGGGG

Fusun: Like KFC Toonie Tuesday which only Canadians will understand.. I will be here unless the world falls in on Thursdays.. then I might drop in and cover that hahah
Lots of sights & insights here, Linda. Missed you! I don't roam around the internet much anymore. (and sorry, clowns are always scary, especially wielding phallic balloons !)
Spudman: Sometimes the noise comes in a such deafening levels that it is hard to ignore when you motor is running full blast. BUT- the car dies and you can endure more noise and I have never really left just not really blogged. Thank you for your friendship.. it means a lot.

Lea; You and I are old soul sistas.. We spread words hoping people get it.

Sheila: LOTS of colour.. yet I dress in black all the time.. Maybe so the colour of life will show up more to others???

Cathy: I have more in that series and actually did a blog with the Queen of the Furrow about the future of farming. I love real people.
Wow, Linda! What an eye for beauty and people. I would love to follow you around on all your adventures. Thanks for taking us along.
Dirndl: Yeah I will be here on Tuesdays and other places on other days. I had emails from some of my good friends on here asking me to come back. I love the people here and they have become a major part of my life.
You cannot beat that.
The clown: The sun was in my eyes and they were moving around so I just shot 3 pics. One of them came out like that.. I freaked hahahaha

Miguela: I never knew I would love photography.. Who knew?? Six of these photos have won 'photos of the day. Its like whatttttttttttttt??:)
This was a beautiful post!! ~huge hugs~

Rated, but of course!!!
Lindas here! Lindas here! Now its a real party!!!
Merci cher Tink.. or should I call you the "Jerry Lewis" of Canada??:)
Right now, I need to look through the eyes of those who see beauty in the world and in people. So grateful for this Linda. HUGGGGGGS
She's baaaaaaaack! Wonderful work, Linda. Wow, I've missed your posts!
STUNNING. I could fill a huge space with the word repeated over and over again. This is the perfect example of what I meant when I said the pictures are wonderful only because they don't stand alone; your words provide the context and each is enhanced. Wow.
Bernadine.. she is here like an infomercial today hahah
Bleue: its there.. ya just have to look.. HUGGGGGGG.. There's a spot over here just for you.

Walter: Like a chicken fried wing special I will be here on Tuesdays hahah
Linda ~ what a wonderful set of images from your travels along with your special captions! It would be fun to have the clown group around in my town--instant cheering up, comedy, and all of the other great things clowns do!
Marsha: HUGGGGGGGGGGG and more
Designanator: You do not want the clowns my friend. BEWARE of the clowns!!!!:)
Simply put these are beautiful. And you made me cry too. Is that song from a movie? This is absolutely front cover. -r-
So glad you are back, Linda. You've been sorely missed.
Christine: yes it is a song from that 5 "Kleenexer" movie hahaha
I am here with you guys that is all that matters.

Fernsy: Footloose.. Footloose.. everyone dance.. go read the fernsy's blog..:)
A nice reminder to notice the world...it is just filled with beauty.
That doesn't always translate to an interesting blog though, it takes the gifted visionary to pull it together....
Kudos, Ms. Linda : )
What a great batch of photos..and the words are a perfect fit.
WTF is that clown on the left holding in his hand? Yikes! Made me feel inadequate. Tell Etta that people still can feel inadequate just from looking at a balloon.
Merci ma cher Just Thinking.. I love to write but fingerprinted lenses are taking over my life hahaha

Rugrat: Thank you.. I so appreciate it

D'art: Sometimes you think ya got sumthin but ya got sumthin' else.
I dont think either of us knew what was cookin just like the headless drummer hahahah
These were great my friend, you have a gift of seeing things in a certain way most don't. Glad you're back home, if only for awhile!
thanks scanner.. thank to an email from you and a couple of others I am here on Tuesday..
HUGGGGGGGGGGG
This made my day doll.r
Keep feeling. Keep snapping. This is so well done.
WOW Linda! THIS is beautiful! YOU are beautiful! What a great premise for a children's book this story would make!!
Your eyes behold beauty like no other, Linda. Etta brought out the best in you, just as so many others have in your travels.

Lezlie
Such beautiful photos, and such a beautiful way of looking at the world!!!!
What a stretch, Linda; really cool pics. R
So glad that you are back Linda.
I am especially impressed by the pic of the Fire Tower. There's an ethereal beauty about it.
A sweet and profound photo essay. (I love these, because my own photography skills are uninspiring.) And...welcome back!
Hugs, you;re the doll:)
Stacey: thank you.. HUGGG
Hayley: What my Christmas sock puppet would not make a great book hahahaha:)

Lezlie: so many people in this world just want one word.
Alysa: Hugs to you
Thanks Toth!!
A Walrond: Built in 1866
Thanks Boanerges..:)
Bellwether: If you ask me how I take some of these I could not tell you hahaha
As we have recently spoken, while words aren't worth much, really good photos are! Hoping your bank account gets some praise from your artistic eye, too!
Kate LOL... I won 5 best photos so that is 50 bucks.. I will take it gladly hahaha
I love this post, Linda. Your photos are beautifully composed and I'm struck by how your words weave all these diverse photos, subjecs, people, moods together in a seamless way, making the connections seem so obvious and natural. Thanks you.
Truly one of your finest photo essays, Linda. Give Axel a scratch behind the ears for me.
These photos are really beautiful. I'm glad you posted them. They are familiar and exotic at the same time. Thanks for showing people "our" Ontario. "I take photographs so people will always be able to see what I saw through my eyes." Mission accomplished, Linda.
I really like this colorful piece, it twists and turns but I follow the logic and admire the photos. Liked 5 especially.
Thank you Donegal.. I so appreciate it.
various.. that poor dog.. But he got used to 'smiling" :)
thank you Scarlett: the beauty in Ontario is mind boggling.
