Potz!

Rate: 12 Flag

another table of ware

Rice Bowls, and tea bowls and vases, oh my!

pots

Blurry wet pots below.  I was blurry by then, too.

And then you must fire them the first time...

now they are bisqued, soft stones that suck up glaze like gravy.

And ready to paint with bugs and flowers and beasties and such.

ready to paint
I made 300 pots last week.
I have another hundred to make for a show 9/13.
Next week, I paint.  Today, I do nothing.
Except maybe catch up on OS.

My but we've been busy, haven't we. Thanks e, I always like looking at your work posts, especially work "in progress".
Oh my stars and whiskers! That's wonderful.

Don't your fingers get all pruney after all that.
That's amazing.
Seeing the unpainted vista of them, gives me the same feeling as fresh snowfall (that comment didn't make sense to anyone but me).
it makes sense to me and my pruney fingers. I love the potz when they are all fresh and just made. When they are biqued, kind of pink and scolding because they are naked, they are not so nice.

But next week, they will be beautiful and I will love them again. You don't love your job, or your work product every day...
And that is only about 64 there on the table!
Another 240 in other various stages. I decided to blog this work cycle, so more pictures tomorrow.
Now that's a lot of pots. I need to order some dinner plates from you and will just as soon as I can afford it (the flood killed us financially plus I need a new kiln to fill new glass orders-that's a good thing). I want a very rustic brown/tan/greenish glaze, darker on the outside and edges than on the plate itself (I like the food to take center stage on the plate). In the meantime, just call me impressed. That's a lot of work!
That is so lovely and soothing to my tired soul.
holy smokes Elizabeth. You have been busy. I owe you an OSmail to catch you up with what's been going on...and to place an order.

xo

I love the swirly texture in the bottom of the bowls.
I put up some pictures of the rest, still not all in one spot. That will come sometime next week.
First thing I thought of was the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi'an. I swear. Beautiful work, Priddy.
Nice to se your production E!!
holy crap that's alot of potz!
