I love that band. I can't listen to it right now because my small child is refusing to fall asleep!! Is it 'Anything but Love?' Love that one.
I LOVE them....have a couple of their discs! "Put a lid on"....great tune!

Rated for a kindred spirit!
E, check these out if you haven't seen them too.

Hells yeah! SNZ all night long. Your coolness factor just hit the roof ms ePrid!
I've been a fan for a long time. Do you have their Christmas cd? It's swinging.
I love a local group (Chapel Hill, NC) getting a big shout-out. Jim Mathus was once in a band called "Johnny Vomit and the Dry Heaves." His name was Bart Barf. Kinda makes me want to puke. Entertaining post!
My internet is all broken because of Zerry. I can't watch the video you posted. Can you describe it to me?
Yeah, they're good. The new swing bands are great. Nice video selection.
Once again, Priddy rocks the joint. Hands down one of the coolest people I've never met and could pick out of a lineup in 2 seconds flat.
Love love love this group. thanks for the reminder, I haven't listened in a looooong time!
Squirrel Nut Zippers, gotta love 'em, I do. Their music really hits the spot and takes me to places I've never been.

Do they make anyone else feel like taking the Model A out for a spin on a warm Louisiana night in 1934?
Damn Greg - those were good. I've listened to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for awhile now, but Royal Crown Revue was new to me. Happily, they're on eMusic - so instant gratification can be a reality.
Just a note to brighten the night!

For theose unable to play it, it is "Hell", a curious song about going to hell in a handbasket.

This is a local band made good. Never a better song about going south!
Just an aside, Actual SNZ's taste like chewy sweet peanut butter.
Royal Crown Review rocks. My favorite is Barflies on the Beach. There's something just completely hysterical about all these guys running around on the beach, and the frontman (who always makes me thing of Jimmy Cagney) bouncing around in his wife-beater. And the lyrics just crack me up. "What's that? That's a shell. That's what your little sister's gonna come out of when I date her, you understand what I'm saying, punk?"

Awesome awesome awesome. Both a revisitation of RCR, and and intro to SNZ. Thanks!
And don't forget Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. I posted some good vids of them and RCR above. Tight horn section.
Their Christmas album is the best! Rivals Nat (in a whole different genre way).
