You can let these flouncers come back any time! Adorable.
We should just declare April "flounce month" at OS. Very nice, ePriddy.
I want to see flouncing pony mane!
I'm a big fan of pony butts...or is it a fan of big pony butts?

Let it be known, I have never flounced in my life.

I have been known to prance, occassionally trot, but never flounce.
i love this. love love love this.

Thumbified with a tail swish!
i saw 'flouncing' and came straight away. i feel so dirty now. pretty ponies though.
Ah, sweet pony flouncing!
No one flounces like a pony.

I had a pony once that flounced me right off into the pond and then flounced off his merry way. But he was still cute when he was doing it...
Elizabeth- are these wild ponies?
You think they'd be glad to have their pictures taken!
I lost some friends last night. And no, they weren't all "nice people", even though they said that they were.

Can we let it go now, especially since I don't have a dog in the f'ing fight, but got dragged in anyway.
I took these pictures 4 days before the events of the weekend.
Haiga is supposed to be an in the moment experience.

Because the weekend's extravaganza was part of my experience, this is the haiga that resulted.

I was driving people here from my blog to see the pottery posts, but this weekend I didn't even with a workshop coming this week. Because of the shameful way everyone has been acting. I was ashamed of this foolishness and did not want professional associates of mine to click around the neighborhood. Think on that a while next time a stupid situation is erupting.

So don't act like asses and people will not comment about people behaving like asses.

Flouncing is stupid, regardless of any other factor. You can just stop posting if you just can't cope with society at large. You don't have to flounce on the way out.

I don't think my opinion on this is a surprise to anyone, but I bet you didn't think I would put this spin on it and turn the stupid experience into art.

This piece stand fine alone out of the current stupid context.

Did I mention that 99.9 percent of all the current foolishness is stupid?

But ponies are fun, so laugh your asses off and move on! Nothing to see here... keep it moving....
Z,

I didn't see any of last night, so you are excused from this comment and post!

OK, I saw this, commented, then read all the tags and other commenters, then went off to read some blogs. Now I get it. I thought this was just a general haiga about the topic of flouncing, which is periodically covered here on OS.

But now that I have the entire context, if you will - I still like it, but I don't mean that in a snarky way, as, I like EPriddy's take on this which must mean that I dislike the flouncers, flouncer's supporters, etc etc etc. It is incredibly boring to have to talk this way, explaining what you think/feel while rushing to placate everyone who is already mad, or ready to be mad. I'm tired of it, and in that spirit, reiterate my appreciation for EPriddy's gently humorous artistic take on what has arisen this past week. It's like a refreshing Cher-style "Snap out of it!"
Placate? Doesn't that just encourage them?

Do these ponies run free? (Pardon my ignorance about the state I live in, for God's sake. :-)
Yes, Verbal. It's like doing a minuet by myself, trying to find a way to word things that doesn't set someone off. I find it boring and I don't want to do it, though sometimes I appreciate the discipline it brings to my writing - I can get emotional.

Here on the OS it is very difficult to express a negative opinion about certain behaviors without having it be interpreted as a declaration of psychological warfare against a particular individual, or engage in slurring that individual.
Rob - all ponies run free. It's the law.

Go, Rob. Now. :-)
Awwww! Really. That's pretty cool. (And I thought you guys were kidding.)
I have many many more pony pictures from that day, as a harem and the stallion were grazing right across Taylor's Creek. There were about 8 of them that day and this one was kind of frisky.

They run free. They are rounded up by the rangers that take care of Rachel Carson Reserve for inoculations and birth control to keep the herd manageable on the islands, as they will overbreed sometimes.

I have been awfully busy this week with my friend Stephen in from England. Tomorrow, we communally fire the wood kiln with 12 potters with work in the kilns. I am very excited and tired, as the cleaning is finally done and the fun can commence.

I was not trying to be incendiary here in this post, just feeling the need to comment on the happenings and to let people know that many people who don't get directly in the thick of it are watching and making decisions about whether they want to deal with people.

I got in my share of dust-ups, and so I know from the trenches that it is just not worth it. If I want to show someone some of these 140 or so haiga, I don't want them to wade through a bunch of childish vitriol to get there. Even here, I try to maintain some kind of public standard of behavior and I think that is essential to a community's collective health. And laughing at and about it is part of that.

This pony made me laugh that day and every time I see that picture. I will make a separate post with more pony pictures.
I don't get the problem with 'flouncing'. If people want to leave, and let others know they're going, whats the big deal?

I've lost contact with OS friends because they've just disappeared and had to wonder if they're ok. One of them wasn't - they have been battling cancer. I'd rather have someone post a flounce and know that they just feel it's time to move on than worry.

Beautiful photographs.
