“Demi, why you do this to me, Demi . . . why?”
The Exorcist (Mrs. Karras to Father Damien Karras)
“Whip-it” is the street name for nitrous oxide (aka “laughing gas”) contained in a small metal container and normally used to recharge whipping cream cans in restaurants. Whip-it chargers can be purchased separately and users inhale it from the canister for a quick high. It is some teenagers’ drug of choice because it can be bought at the supermarket. Apparently it is Demi Moore’s drug too.
On Monday night, Moore collapsed and showed symptoms of a seizure after ingesting large amounts of the substance. She was hospitalized in Sherman Oaks, California and released Thursday night. It is reported prescription drugs may have also played a part in her collapse. What about anorexia as a possible cause? Wake up, people! She is a skeleton.
Demi, Ashton is not worth dying for! He is a lousy actor and a dope, not worthy of your devotion and love. The Two and a Half Men (he is not even one whole man) star arrived in LAX last night after a party binge in Sao Paolo to rush to his estranged wife’s side. I think he’s doing it for the publicity.
Demi’s daughter Rumer has reached out to Kutcher several times, only to be blown off. I suppose he had a change of heart.
“Ashton is deeply concerned for Demi,” a source told People magazine.
He cares so deeply that he is partying in exotic locales while his wife punishes her body through starvation, a relentless workout regimen and substance abuse. Yeah, right.
Demi is not just a pretty face. In April 2011, Demi and Kutcher launched their “Demi and Ashton Foundation”, a non-profit, non-governmental organization directed towards fighting child sexual slavery. I never heard about it in the news, but they did an interview on Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN to promote the foundation. She has also helped Ashton with his career.
I don’t pretend to know Demi’s reasons for self-abuse, but being a former anorexic, I would posit that she is responding to a world crumbling around her. As a teenager, I starved myself because I wanted some kind of mastery over my life and circumstances, and felt helpless to change anything around me. So I transformed myself, at least physically. This gave me a sense of control and independence I had never known, and even a sense of superiority over others who were not as “health” conscious as myself. In addition to starvation, I ran almost every day which furthered the weight loss.
Moore’s condition prompted her to drop the role of Gloria Steinem in the upcoming 70s-era porn biopic Lovelace; she is being replaced by Mary-Louise Parker. I like Parker’s work but am hoping to see Demi return to the screen.
Demi, you can do better. I want to see you buff and powerful and sexy like you were in GI Jane, even if part of your look was surgically-induced. You still kicked ass! I kind of wish you had stayed with Bruce. Of course, I don’t know the particulars of your first marriage, but he was a better man than Ashton, by far.

Needless to say AK is a putz. I like Willis (remember Moonlighting?) but who knows what kind of issues he has- or they had?
Anyway, sorry to see Ms. Moore looking like that^ and sucking whip-its...
scanner, Yes, I thnk so too. She started working at age 16, always a fighter.
I would imagine that there is a deep shame associated with an older woman being cast aside by a younger man. Completely unwarranted, of course, but I think it's there. I hope she can come through this a stronger woman.
Yes, I hope she bounces back. He's a putz.
I don't get why Ashton is expected to rush to his ex's side, okay, I'll say it.
I don't.
They broke up.
I would not have rushed to my ex's side if he were hospitalized after we broke up, he actually was hospitalized and I did not show up. That would have been the last person he wanted by his side, and he was the last person I'd sit there for, at the time.
Why is Demi's ex expected to show up? Isn't that the last person she needs around now, the bonehead who slept with someone else on their anniversary? The one who can stir up the most bad emotional hoohah for her right now? And if this is some drama of hers to get him to show up, isn't that more reason he should stay away?
And whip its?? That is such a teenager-type bad road, what's up with Ms. 49 year old?
I don't know, not even judging, these are all things I ponder and don't get.
Now, back to the real world.
HUGGGGG

Linda, yes, wasn't it good? She definitely needs some kind of intervention.
Fusun, I'm sure she does feel lost. Better not to follow the lives of celebrities. So many more important things to do.
CM, thank you, me too.
I agree, Mary.
Ever notice all the plastic surgeons seem to be guys? The top lose-weight types too often are guys? Telling women how to look, how to be???
As a bulimic teenager, I understand your noticing when women get too thin, and then they think that looks and feels right?? I know, I did too...
My favorite Demi Moore movie is "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze. I loved that movie. I hope she gets through this ok, and back on the big screen too. I didn't know about her anorexia. It's amazing how we react to stress and pain. I'm so glad you got through that ok, Erica.
Thanks.
Jeanette, brilliant! Yes, that would have been far more frightening!
CG, I agree. I have ultra-fine hair and keep it cut short so I have some body. Thanks for reading.
