I was a stick in a pond.
The job of the investigative/political blogger is to always question, always complain, always be a disturbance. We're not always right, we're not always unbiased, and, most definitely, we're not always easy to talk to. We wonder carelessly.
Well, needless to say, we finally have something to be to thankful for: Occupy.
It's sometimes difficult to feel like a change in the world, and that eclectic group of men and women out there beckon us to thank them.
I live in a small town with a seedling, part-time movement; I go out to some, if not most, of the protests. But, the real battle is being fought elsewhere, and if I was better off, I would send them each a big piece of turkey, some yams, a couple biscuits, hot gravy, my dad's delicious stuffing, and a slice of pumpkin pie and cream. I would, but I can't.
For this holiday, all I can do is thank them. All that we can do is continue the war on the networks, the blogs, the airwaves, and keep them in our thoughts. Like them or not, they're out there fighting for us.
So, Thank You. You are in our thoughts, at our dinner tables, and in our hearts.
