Where to start? I'm a sci-fi/fantasy writer. I also write commentary on a number of issues for a non-partisan e-mag called Harlots' Sauce Radio. I have a blog on VOX that I started a few years ago so I wouldn't bug my husband every two seconds with thoughts/rants/THINGS that were running through my head. I often wish that I could have gone to college forever, because there are so many things in this world that I want to learn more about. Sometimes, I can't sleep, because I can't get the wheels to stop turning. I spend far too much time reading the news and often have to detox by non-stop fiction reading for a couple of days. My favorite authors are Tamora Pierce, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Umberto Eco and Fay Weldon. I am an American-Kiwi (New Zealander) of Indian descent. Pigeonhole me at your peril. [p.s. When I started this blog, we were living in Switzerland and I haven't posted as much as I've liked due to being distracted by cheese, chocolate and manic traveling. Now that we're back in New Zealand, I will make an effort to post regularly. Besides, I need the non-fic writing practice, as well a wider audience of guinea pigs to inflict my writing upon.]

Is there a tactful way to say that?  These people don't deserve tact.

It's bad enough that couple in Wisconsin got off pretty lightly for the murder of their kid.  I don't really call each parent serving one month (at separate times) a punishment, per say, because that still leaves… Read full post »
