In reponse to Mishima666's post "Getting Unread on Open Salon" what if members of the community were picked to be editors from time to time?
There are already a few members that are posting their favorite picks list in an effort to get some of the unread to be read, so if the community is already gravitating towards it, then maybe we as a community should be given a small amount of space on the cover?
I'm thinking just a one headline spot to change daily, with the guest editor spot be a ...
- random
- nominated
- volunteered/applied for
type of situation.
There are topics of interest that I believe are not being touched on that are a part of this body of work that could be further investigated if a different perspective was thrown into the mix. Maybe this is one way to make that happen?
Thoughts?

I feel just a tiny bit bad for it too.....:)
there's somebody - damn, don't remember name and the item has gone from the feed - which is an informal way of doing something. But an institutionalized (so to speak) way of getting participant input into the EPs (and address some of the recent whining).
And - oh Henry!!
With the guest editor spot, I assume there would come great responsibility. I figure that the method of choosing a guest editor (I think application by interested members with a quick interview of intentions might be the best way) but the final say would come from the powers that be to make sure it isn't used for evil.
OPEN Salon!
Set the great unwashed freeeeeeeeeeeee!
I do like the idea of blogger/editors.
I think I am laughing so hard now I may have to see the new doc on the block. He comes highly rated, and he had found my mind for me four times. I better call and make an appointment..................
