- I'm 35. I work in a career I love, paint, ski, nordic walk, have dogs, have a boyfriend, read incessantly, crochet, travel, sing in my car, and cook like a dream.
I was misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia for the past 4 years and the some of the story is posted here. Having corrected that, I have regained energy and vitality, so I'm not online as much as before. Can't really say "F the medical establishment" enough right now.
*Please excuse the mess while I readjust my online identity*

Its 11:59 pm folks - beware of the Midnight Regulations
I typically do not write about political issues. I’m very much an idiot when it comes to such things.
Case in point, I didn’t know that exiting Presidents have a habit of passing all sorts of regulations right before they leave office that effect some pretty scary stuf… Read full post »
The Waiting Game - Realities of finding a job
I have been looking for a permanant job for the last 3 months. I believe I am doing all the right things.
These include:
- Searching for and applying for jobs every day, without fail.
- Networking with old co-workers and former school contacts till my ears/fingers bleed.
- Tailoring my resume … Read full post »
Chapter 1. Day Before/Day After
I remember the day before very well. It's astonishing how the smallest details are etched into my memory.
It was a warm November evening and I was cooking dinner for one of my more wonderful friends. A beautiful Egyptian girl whom I knew from our shared college town had been in… Read full post »
Goin' Commando
I've always felt that it is productive in piss poor situations (mine being bleak, seemingly unending unemployment - arg) to look for something that can uplift your spirits.
Usually, for me that means playing with my darling puppies - see

I started out with the best intentions. I got up every day, showered, put on clothes that didn't resemble pj's and sat down to "work".
My daily task list:
- Monster.com - find at least one job to apply for
- Indeed.com - find at least one job to apply … Read full post »
Letter to the O.S. Medical Community
*this isn't directed at any particular M.D. - I read them all: teendoc, jeffery dach, Amy T. M.D., rahil k. p. and others.
Dear O.S. M.D.'s:
This is probably going to create a bit of a backlash, but I think it needs to be pushed out… Read full post »
Here are the facts:
- I am in a committed relationship.
- I have an almost fail safe form of birth control, so no worries there.
- All my pink parts are in working order (I check occasionally *blush*).

What's up, Doc?
"What brings you here today?"
After filling out a 6 page questionnaire and telling two nurses my symptoms, I'm not really sure why the doctor is asking me anything at all, but I play along.
You see, I recently fired my doctor. She was uninterested in taking care… Read full post »
Coming back home was hard enough. I knew I wasn't going to find a job right away, so I was out commiserating with an old friend at the bar when someone asked me for a cigarette.
"I'll trade you for a job" I joked.
She said "Come down to… Read full post »
Holiday Chronicles #1 - The Good One
I hate the holidays pretty much like most people hate the holidays. I hate the rush, the mad consumerism, the obligatory family time, opening presents that I didn't ask for, driving long distances to spend time with people I don't like.....
You get the idea and I'm sure you probably… Read full post »

Truth, Secrets, and OS
Just received a comment on my post for Open Call, wondering if what I wrote was true.
Wow. I really don't know how to feel about that.
I wrote about something I don't talk about anymore, to anyone. It was a painful topic, but it felt good to throw it… Read full post »

I was rushing to get to a BBQ party one August. I was living the dream life in Chicago, working and residing downtown during the dot com boom. Friends were plentiful and we spent our downtime lounging on back porches grilling up free range and organic food from Wild Oats, musing… Read full post »
It's 8:59 AM and I don't want to get moving. This is pretty typical in the morning as I'm usually so fatigued I can't speak. So I hit the blog circuit and read about the lives of people who aren't like mine.
To preface, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia… Read full post »
