Tell your Senator to table Nelson amendment 888-423-5983.
Dear Senator Nelson,
I see that you have decided to follow your colleague, Bart Stupak in insisting that, if anyone receives any kind of federal subsidy with which to purchase their private health insurance, said private health insurance cannot pay for certain women's healthcare procedures.
It seems that you object to these healthcare procedures on moral grounds, and since your morals trumps my healthcare, if you and Bart Stupak have your way, my life, and the lives of millions of American women, become negotiable in your give-and-take, trade-you-this-for-that bullshit known as creating legislation.
Senator Nelson, I do not know you. I believe that you believe that you are an honorable man. But I would point out to you that just across the state lines from your state, doctors have been murdered for providing women with this essential, vital, life-saving form of healthcare procedure.
No matter.
If this were men's bodies we were talking of, I doubt we'd be arguing. No one has insisted that no federal money can be used to finance Viagra, or even vasectomies. Don't vasectomies interfere with G*d's great plan to populate the earth until, over her limit, we die off in the millions?
Nature's way, we call it. Better to be born and starve to death rather than to be deprived of the opportunity.
Senator Nelson, if you introduce this amendment today, you will delay, yet again, the delivery of healthcare to those who most need it. You will, in fact, be responsible for the deaths of those who because of the delay are unable to get health care.
While you are quibbling over potential life, real life is being lost.
Please step away from the dais. Put down the amendment. Do the right thing.
In the meantime, those of you reading? Get up off your ass. Pick up the phone.

You are amazing and inspiring, as always.
So no one gets confused, this is Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, not Senator Bill Nelson of Florida.
