Can Western civilization survive the passing of the European peoples whose ancestors created it and their replacement by Third World immigrants? Probably not, for the new arrivals seem uninterested in preserving the old culture they have found.

Those who hold the white race responsible for the mortal sins of mankind -- slavery, racism, imperialism, genocide -- may welcome its departure from history. Those who believe that the civilization that came out of Jerusalem, Athens, Rome and London to be the crowning achievement of mankind will mourn its passing.

Pat Buchanan mourns the loss of the white majority. According to him, by 2041, white people will be a minority in both Europe and the USA, and, according to Pat, it's the end of the world as we know it. And he does not feel fine.

I'm too fucking tired. I think I'm just going to take to my fainting couch and have a case of the vapors. I'm going to gather my lovely children around me, and instruct them in the gentle, moral arts, so that both my daughters grow up to be fine mothers, who recognize that despite their intellects, their ambitions, and their dreams, when push comes to shove, (and a lady never shoves,) their jobs are about putting their children above all.

The fate of Western, elite, white society depends upon it.

I produced two white children, and they need to breed huge numbers of children in order to compete against those others who can't stop having children. 

Pat is terrified of what's going to happen when the Hispanic population grows: 

In every presidential election since Bush I in 1992, Hispanics have given 60-70 percent of their votes to the Democratic ticket.

For Hispanics, largely poor and working class, are beneficiaries of a cornucopia of government goods -- from free education to food stamps to free health care. Few pay federal income taxes.

Why would they not vote for the Party of Government?

 You think I'm kidding, don't you? Pat Buchanan, who still has a regular gig on "Morning Joe" and "Hardball," somehow considered to be representative of the intellectual right, is speaking like a crazy person. 

It was Molly Ivins who said, after his 1984 speech to the Republican National Convention, that she understood the speech sounded better in its original German. 

But it's not just Hispanics who have got Pat's knickers in a twist. It's African-Americans, too. And it's not because they're going to vote for Democrats. It's that black people are dumb. 

Third, the decline in academic test scores here at home and in international competition is likely to continue, as more and more of the children taking those tests will be African-American and Hispanic. For though we have spent trillions over four decades, we have failed to close the racial gap in education. White and Asian children continue to outscore black and Hispanic children.

Can the test-score gap be closed? With the Hispanic illegitimacy rate at 51 percent and the black rate having risen to 71 percent, how can their children conceivably arrive at school ready to compete?

Yes, you read that right. The failure of white people (that is, WOMEN) to breed is leading to the decline of our civilization.

And, finally, Pat knows that we're going to become a nation of unskilled, uneducated, mongrels.

Second, the economic crisis of California, brought on by an outflow of taxpayers and a huge influx of tax consumers -- i.e., millions of immigrants, legal and illegal -- will be mirrored nationally.

For though the majority of immigrants and illegals comes to work, and work hard, most now come from Third World countries and do not bring the academic or professional skills of European-Americans.

Those who insist that the fight over abortion is about "life," are naive. It's about the idea that precious white babies are being aborted and you-know-who are keeping their babies.  You can call me paranoid, but I don't think that it's accidental that at the same time that we have a virtual war going on against women in the United States (and that war is spreading throughout the West) --just one example among many over the right to privacy--at the same time, another assault has been re-launched. It's all part and parcel of the same meme: women are selfish creatures. We cannot be trusted. (Is it assumed that white men always want to breed and it's white women who are the selfish ones?)

Pat doesn't go off on one of his anti-woman rants, but it's implicit in his argument. Selfish white women are causing the decline of our culture. If we insisted on staying home and having our men keep us knocked up, well, we'd be a lot better off now, wouldn't we? 

It's not enough that we're opting out of giving birth. Those of us who are giving birth are still selfish, because we go back to work and return to our careers and our children are suffering. And it's all our fault. Ours. Not this culture's. Not men's. And not the fault of our social inferiors--you know, those women of colour or lesser financial standing. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. No. It's women's fault, although when you look closely at the articles, it mostly seems to be the fault of elite white women who are letting down the race.

It doesn't seem to matter that many of these critics have cockeyed views of a past that didn't exist. You could say their views of history are mythological, romanticized, a sort of fascist aesthetic in which women were kind, and gentle, and gave willingly every last ounce of their souls to those around them. Never asking for anything for themselves. Always serving themselves last. Always putting others first. Volunteering. If they had to work, they went into the "helping" professions.

Never mind the thousands and thousands of pages of historical research that has argued that our notion of a "private sphere" is a modern phenomenon. Domesticity is a part of ideology; but somehow, sacred domesticity gets a free pass.

I'm apoplectic with rage over the bullshit droolings of an old, bitter, intellectually challenged old man. 

I was an historian in my previous life. I knew that I had read Buchanan's ragings somewhere else. 

And so it follows in Hitler's thinking, if there is a supreme form of human, then there must be others less than supreme, the Untermenschen, or racially inferior. Hitler assigns this position to Jews and the Slavic peoples, notably the Czechs, Poles, and Russians.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler states: "...it [Nazi philosophy] by no means believes in an equality of races, but along with their difference it recognizes their higher or lesser value and feels itself obligated to promote the victory of the better and stronger, and demand the subordination of the inferior and weaker in accordance with the eternal will that dominates this universe."

Hitler then states the Aryan is also culturally superior.

"All the human culture, all the results of art, science, and technology that we see before us today, are almost exclusively the creative product of the Aryan..."

"Hence it is no accident that the first cultures arose in places where the Aryan, in his encounters with lower peoples, subjugated them and bent them to his will. They then became the first technical instrument in the service of a developing culture."

Hitler goes on to say that subjugated peoples actually benefit by being conquered because they come in contact with and learn from the superior Aryans. However, he adds they benefit only as long as the Aryan remains the absolute master and doesn't mingle or inter-marry with inferior conquered peoples.

Buchanan isn't even apologetic for parrotting the writings of one of the largest mass murderers in world history. Why should he apologize? If you can bring yourself to read the comments, many people agree with him. 

What do I take from this? I think I need to stop working so hard, for one thing.

It's also time for me to start grooming my girls for their real duties. Never mind that one wants to go to medical school and the other wants to become a wildlife biologist. That's just plain wrong. Even though they've had an example of a mother who has managed to have a career and do a pretty kick-ass job of raising them, I've been doing it wrong. I'm a fuckup and a failure according to the forces of darkness out there.
