A Side Of Me You Never Seen- My Artwork

Rate: 36 Flag

This post was inspired by Zumalicious post “A life in the Life of an Artist”. Thank you Zuma for the inspiration.

Art has always been a huge part of my life from drawing, painting, pottery, sculptures, wood working.  My all time favorite medium to use is pencil, seeing something in the black and white form to me adds new depth to the subject to show the subjects true beauty in it’s rare form. My favorite subject to draw are people, portraits even though I can draw just about anything I want people have always been my favorite. My art teachers in High School and College used to tell me I could create the person’s personality on paper.

I don’t have a scanner but I just bought myself a digital camera so I took some pictures of some of my favorite drawing and painting. I hope they turned out good enough to really see the artwork.

I wanted to share my art work with you all to show you a side of me you have all heard me talk about but have yet to see it with your own eyes. I hope you will enjoy them all.

Thank you

easter and art work 028

This one is a drawing of the bottom part of a Model T. It is done with a #2 ebony pencil.

easter and art work 031

This drawing is of a landscape done in pencil. My professor in college would hand out photos for us to take home and draw. I was up late trying to finish my assignment when I decided to change the bushes and add a lake instead to finish the asignment quicker. I received extra credit for changing the photograph.

easter and art work 032

This is another landscape drawing done in pencil.

                                                   ***********

easter and art work 034

This is a drawing of my Grandfather. The orignal photograph that I drew it off of was only about four inches by two inches and it was taken in the 1930s.

                                                     ***********

easter and art work 037

This is a still life we had to do in college. It is done with oil colored pencils.

                                                      ***********

easter and art work 038

This is a painting of Jame Dean that I painted for my mother. I got it back last Stepember when she passed away, it was the only painting of mine that she hung on too.

easter and art work 039

This painting I done for my oldest brother and he gave it back when he got married, his wife didn't want it around. It is also the painting I painted on my coaches weight room wall to earn the money to buy my mustang.

                                                  ****************

easter and art work 033

This is a still life we had to draw in college. It is done in pencil.

                                               ************

I have a bunch in my portfolio but these are a few of my favorite ones. Over the years I have done many different paintings and drawing for other people. Twenty years ago I used to do drawing for a tattoo place in Kansas City, people would have a special order tat that they wanted done so then I was called in to do the drawing for the tattoo. The biggest tattoo drawing I done was for a huge biker dude and it was the "Stairway to heaven" album cover with the mountain it took up the whole back of the dude.

I know the photos really don't do the paintings and drawing justice, and I am sorry about that.  This is something I am trying to get back into doing because it was always a wonderful escape for me. Art and writing were my ways to escape to a whole new world.

Well, I think that they are fine. You have a real talent and eye for it. And I also like that your art is a place you can go and just get lost in doing something that you love.

Monte
FE.....just when I think you can't surprise me any more, there you go! These are wonderful......we are really blessed to have so much talent on OS.....I think we should have more posts like this where members can showcase their talents. Rated
FE
This is some talent you have going on. it's museum quality!
you are an amazing woman. the one of you grandfather is my favorite.
You are very talented! I hope you keep on creating!
My friend, you are incredibly talented. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, let alone these beautiful creations.
Thanks for sharing your artwork. James Dean is my fave. You have some skillz and talent, girl!
Monte- Thank you very much. I am trying to get back into drawing again, that has been my new project since I am not on OS all the time. Sometimes life keeps you too busy to do the things you enjoy, art being one of mine.

Onecorgilover- See I am still full of surprises. Yes we are blessed to have a lot of talent on OS I have seen many posts of art work here on OS. We should have it where they showcase their art of all kinds here on OS. Thank you sweetie

Julie-Thank you very much

Mr Mustard- I don't know about museum quality but thank you so much for the compliment.

Capn'- That drawing my family has tried to get from me for years. It is one of my favorites also. Thank you very much

cartouche- Thank you very much. I am trying to get back into creating drawings again. It is a wonderful escape.

AshKW-Thank you very much. Art has always been a part of my life and something I have always enjoyed doing.
Zuma- Thank you! You have some skills and talent also. I like the James Dean one also- like I said I just got that one back from my mother. It has where I wrote on the back of it "Happy Birthday Mom", she had given all my artwork away but that one piece she held onto.
Thank you for sharing this amazing talent with us. I have several favorites, it's difficult to choose only one. Keep on escaping!
What a talent you have. It's good toknow that you have nurtured it with education. Really wow!
My fireeyes, I haven't heard from you for awhile. Then you come up with some fantastic drawings.James Dean is the man. I rate him up there with Steve McQueen. Great drawings. If you can, show us some more.
Thanks tons for sharing these wonderful drawings and art! Love the James Dean painting the most! Have always loved pencil drawings and the softness they reveal in everything the artist portrays. Well done and so glad you retrieved some of your art after many years. These are your legacy, in part. Very appreciated.
Awesome work there!! ~nodding~

Good stuff!!!
excellent work fireeyes! i love all these, but i think my favorite is james dean. very nice!
Buffy- Thank you and I will keep on escaping..into writing or drawing.

Penrose- Yes I have nurtured it with education and hopefully soon I can go back and finish. I don't want to work in the art field because I enjoy it too much. Working in the field you would have to do it and that would take the enjoyment out of it all.
Thank you so much.

Scanner- James Dean and Steve McQueen are the men.. But you can't forget Paul Newman. I am going to try and get some more up to show. Zuma and I have been talking about how I can take the pictures better. Thank you so much.

Just Cathy- Yes they are part of my legacy along with my stories. I have been able to keep a few of them, the rest are all over the world by now. I have been working on getting back to doing more drawing. Thank you

Tink-Thank you very much..
Nana, Thank you very much. Glad you liked them all. I think the James Dean a few others favorite too. I have to work on getting the photos better quality but I will get there. Because the photos really don't do them justice then if you see them in person, but I will get there.
it's always important to keep the creative juices flowing so you don't get rusty. keep going.
midwest- Oh yes you are so right about that. I have to be creative at doing just about anything I do..It is deep in my blood. I will keep going. Thank you
Colour me impressed! And just a bit (okay, a lot) envious - my stick figures turn out looking anemic.
Anne-Thank you for the nice and very cute comment. I promised you a while back I would try to get some up to show you. I am working on it.
I guess if you want an editors pick you have to take pictures of pets or plants. Art is discouraged.
jimgalt- I guess you are right if you want an editors pick you have pictures of plants and pets.. Sucks don't it..
Thank you
I will read the comments in a bit.
Gee, these are so well done.
You got some talent my friend
Excellent stuff. OS is supposed to be a space for creative artists but it mainly seems to be be about what people have seen on TV. We need more like this from you!
Beautiful work Fireeyes, and glad to see you back here for a visit!
FE-

Your talent is evident-so is your passion. Way to go!
Mission- Thank you I am glad you liked them.

Padraig- I am trying to get some more photos of past work done and working on other new ones, so maybe you will see more on here. Thank you very much

annette2009- Thank you! It is nice to be back for a visit.

annimal- Thank you very much.
wonderful drawings. It amazes me how many writers are also artists. Many of the authors I know also paint or do some other type of artwork I also paint, throw pottery and at one time had my own weaving business. If it flows it flows...Nice to have you share.
Very nice artwork. Good talent to have and do as you take care of yourself you can also produce fine art that you can certainly be proud of and enjoy.
These are really good, FireEyes! Keep on keepin' on.
Wow, great! That pencil study of the Model T is superb!! You're making me want to cut down on my time here too, and get back to my own drawing. Perhaps someday I'll be half as good as you.

You're a talented artist, young lady - why am I not surprised?
Wonderful work F.E.!!! Just beautiful!
That James Dean, I miss him and I love his sausage. ;-)
:-D
RATED!!!!
FE...these are awesome! I have always really admired people that had artistic talent. I used to do some pencil drawings back in high school but I was too critical on my stuff. Your drawings/paintings are really nice. You are so fortunate to have a true talent. Keep it going...
Rated & Cheers!
You're full of surprises, eyes. and talent as well. Wonderful work.
thanks for coming back and sharing your art, fireeyes, do you have any photos of the tattoos you designed? those'd be cool to see
fireeyes i admire anyone who follows the art. i have wanted to for a long time, and i have tiny tiny flashes to believe i could. but i buy supplies and they sit in boxes for years. but, they are one of the very very few things i dont use, that i DONT get rid of. bc i want the option there.

love the legs on that hot mama. and the top drawings are are very charming and have such great tone to them.
I like old cars and stuff too! Awesome.
Nice work, FE! Really like the pencil drawings. What a gift to have and to be able to escape into. Have always envied people that could draw like you can. Thanks for sharing these.
thesagejournal- There are many writers who are also artist. I think it is our creative minds, we see the world differently then others do. You should keep up yours also. Thank you

leonde-It is very relaxing to escape into the creating of a drawing or painting. Thank you very much..

Verbal-Thank you very much and I will keep on keeping on.

Dcvdickens- Yes you should get back into doing your drawings also. It is very relaxing and joyful to do. Thank you
Blue- I like James Dean also... Cute! About the sausage.. Thank you very much

Texasbubba- You should try to do it again. I am very critical of my work and a total perfectionist when do it I drive myself crazy (craizer lol) trying to make each draw just so perfect.
Thank you

Christopher Roberts- I can be full of surprises.. Thank you I am glad you liked them

RoyJimenze- No I don't have any of the tattoo- those drawing were draw and than sold to the older of the tattoo. I wished I would have taken photos of them anyway. They went for a pretty price that I can say. The stairway to heaven drawing was $500 just for the drawing I have no idea what the man paid to have it tattoo on his back. I am so glad you enjoy looking at my artwork. Thank you

Janie-Oh you are talking the woman on the conan painting. I am glad you enjoyed looking at my work. You should try your hand at it since you have the supplies.. Just turn on some good music and just tone out the world.
Thank you

Brenda- I like the old cars drawings also. Thank you glad you thought they were awesome.

Dustbowl- Pencil drawings are my favorite of all to do. I am thrilled you liked them all. Thank you
I always envy poeple that have artistic talent. (I spelled people wrong twice, fuck it, I'm getting tired) You are very, very good! If I sit for you will you paint my hair back on?
The James Dean one reminds me of the movie, Giant.
I'd pose for you nude, but you'd get distracted and I'd end up looking like a giant dick. (Did I type that out loud?)
fireeyes, these are so cool! I am WAY impressed! My brothers are both "artists" but I can't draw worth crap. You've actually been PAID for art which makes you a professional! A Mustang is DEFINITELY pay. Come out to California and draw my tattoo!
Michael- Yes if you posed for me I could draw all your hair back in. I wouldn't make you look like a giant dick(yes you did say that out loud)..lol Thank you very much

Suzie- Yes I have been paid for drawings and paintings but I don't think I would call myself a professional. I might be to humble for that..smiles! I would love to draw your tattoo for you. Thank you very much sweetie.
You are an artist! why didn´t you show these drawings before? Congrats for your talent.
Great work! Thanks for sharing it. And by the way, photos sometimes come out better than scans when reproduced online, although none do justice to the real thing.
Wow , FE , You have a real talent in drawing ! I have several artist in my family and can really appreciate your work . The pictures are great . I'm sure this doesnt do them full justice.
Very nice and you are very talented! The pencil drawing of your grandfather is great! Good escaping!
so many hidden talents FE. These are great.
Marcela- I didn't show them before because I just now bought a digital camera and joined the rest of the tech people. Maybe I will be able to get more up. Thank you honey.

Faith-Thank you so much I am glad you liked them. I didn't know that about the photos and the scanned ones I will keep them in mind.

Gman6117- Thank you and you are right the photos don't do them justice but I tried..

Pamela- That is the favorite one of my whole family and they have been even trying to buy it off me for years and I won't let it go..Thank you

JK- I have lots of hidden talents. Thank you
These are really great, fireeyes. What a talented lady you are. I don't know how I missed them the first time around. I need you to do a picture of me (ego? nahhhh)
JohnWalker-Thank you very much. Sure I will do a picture of you. Oh you are a man you have no ego what are you talking about.lol I don't know how you missed them either but thank you for coming by and taking a look.
