This post was inspired by Zumalicious post “A life in the Life of an Artist”. Thank you Zuma for the inspiration.
Art has always been a huge part of my life from drawing, painting, pottery, sculptures, wood working. My all time favorite medium to use is pencil, seeing something in the black and white form to me adds new depth to the subject to show the subjects true beauty in it’s rare form. My favorite subject to draw are people, portraits even though I can draw just about anything I want people have always been my favorite. My art teachers in High School and College used to tell me I could create the person’s personality on paper.
I don’t have a scanner but I just bought myself a digital camera so I took some pictures of some of my favorite drawing and painting. I hope they turned out good enough to really see the artwork.
I wanted to share my art work with you all to show you a side of me you have all heard me talk about but have yet to see it with your own eyes. I hope you will enjoy them all.
Thank you

This one is a drawing of the bottom part of a Model T. It is done with a #2 ebony pencil.
********

This drawing is of a landscape done in pencil. My professor in college would hand out photos for us to take home and draw. I was up late trying to finish my assignment when I decided to change the bushes and add a lake instead to finish the asignment quicker. I received extra credit for changing the photograph.

This is another landscape drawing done in pencil.
***********

This is a drawing of my Grandfather. The orignal photograph that I drew it off of was only about four inches by two inches and it was taken in the 1930s.
***********

This is a still life we had to do in college. It is done with oil colored pencils.
***********

This is a painting of Jame Dean that I painted for my mother. I got it back last Stepember when she passed away, it was the only painting of mine that she hung on too.
*******************

This painting I done for my oldest brother and he gave it back when he got married, his wife didn't want it around. It is also the painting I painted on my coaches weight room wall to earn the money to buy my mustang.

This is a still life we had to draw in college. It is done in pencil.

I have a bunch in my portfolio but these are a few of my favorite ones. Over the years I have done many different paintings and drawing for other people. Twenty years ago I used to do drawing for a tattoo place in Kansas City, people would have a special order tat that they wanted done so then I was called in to do the drawing for the tattoo. The biggest tattoo drawing I done was for a huge biker dude and it was the "Stairway to heaven" album cover with the mountain it took up the whole back of the dude.
I know the photos really don't do the paintings and drawing justice, and I am sorry about that. This is something I am trying to get back into doing because it was always a wonderful escape for me. Art and writing were my ways to escape to a whole new world.

Good stuff!!!
Penrose- Yes I have nurtured it with education and hopefully soon I can go back and finish. I don't want to work in the art field because I enjoy it too much. Working in the field you would have to do it and that would take the enjoyment out of it all.
Thank you so much.
Scanner- James Dean and Steve McQueen are the men.. But you can't forget Paul Newman. I am going to try and get some more up to show. Zuma and I have been talking about how I can take the pictures better. Thank you so much.

The James Dean one reminds me of the movie, Giant.
I'd pose for you nude, but you'd get distracted and I'd end up looking like a giant dick. (Did I type that out loud?)
Suzie- Yes I have been paid for drawings and paintings but I don't think I would call myself a professional. I might be to humble for that..smiles! I would love to draw your tattoo for you. Thank you very much sweetie.
