Climb High
Knocked down
Walk away
Stay
For what?
Give up
Hang on
To what?
Win or lose
Can’t lose
You never had
What to do?
Piece by piece
Slowly
Letting go
Knocked down
Walk away
Stay
For what?
Give up
Hang on
To what?
Win or lose
Can’t lose
You never had
What to do?
Piece by piece
Slowly
Letting go

Write more of this. I like it.
The snow capped mountains by a lake, speaks volumes, too.

This poem was something that came across me yesterday evening. I had no idea how it was going to play out or how the readers would perceive the words or the message. It is something we all struggle with a time or two in our daily lives.
Like Cartouche said "says a lot in a small space that opens the mind and heart to vastness." It was meant to open the mind and heart and make you think. Theobsoleteman said "Economy of words but still evokes such longing." "Speaks to Me" Denise commented.
This was inspired by my best friend, after a long conversation the two of us had on Friday night and by a few posts I have read the last few days.
"The right questions" nana commented and true they are questions we all ask over and over again.
Sometimes we hang on to things and people we shouldn't hang on to. We allow them to rent space in our heads even after everything is over, when we should just let it go and move forward. Like Wordsmith commented "serenity starts when you let go". Robin commented "Let go or be dragged" I heard let go or drown with them".
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments, insight and for taking the time to read my poem.
Sorry about posting and leaving, not like me to do that. I wasn't feeling good to I went to bed shortly after I posted this.
Well written, fireeyes!
Right, Wordsmith. Sometimes when "letting go," we also let go of our stress, and anxiety associated with "hanging on.
Thank you.
Thank you everyone for your thoughtful and wonderful comments on the poem. I am glad everyone got something from it, either finding it beautiful, inspiring or thought provoking. I do hope that all the thoughts that have been provoked and the message everyone received from the poem were all good ones.
Sometimes letting go means that you are growing inside and finding out about something you never knew existed in you and becoming strong over a challenge that has held you back for so long.
Thank you very much I appreciate you all..

Tai- I will come up with another one, maybe something will inspire another one soon. Like the conversation you and I had inspired this poem and those thoughts took shape above.
This poem and a few of the others ones I wrote are thoughts that provoked the words onto paper, and the end result is a poem. A cluster of words to express a message to the reader. Thank you
