He is truly a masterful interpreter of the times as Woody Guthrie was in his.

Honestly I had one of Janis singing, "Me and Bobby McGee", but then I decided to change it to Kris singing it.
Give me Kris Kristofferson or Sam Elliot.. any day!!... any day!!...
I have one of my best friends visiting here this week with me, and this is for him. You know you have your best girl friends, which I would not be anywhere without her. But then you have your best guy friends, well I do anyway... I guess that is maybe, because of being raised with 5 brothers and no sisters, but I could be wrong.
But my Best guy friend is visiting this week, from Colorado, we haven't seen each other for 3 yrs.. Last time we seen each other was the evening of Christmas day 2007. The two of us were, shooting pool, having the time of our lives..
I can say this that if there was any man that I can count on besides my daddy or my 5 brothers, it would be him, and he has never let me down.... These songs are for him...
Thank you very much and so glad you enjoyed the music..
"I'd trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday" Regret.
Life is too long to stay miserable, we must find the joy and share it.
Thanks.
There's NO music like the music of the 50s and 60s. Kristopherson's music always makes you stop and listen to the words don't they. They always seem to me to have a sense of sadness or maybe lost times to them, perfect for his voice.

You have been here for me too.. and I know I can count on you too.. For what I don't know yet... giggles.. Not! I KNOW that I can count on you.
Hugs...
It started with Janis Joplin singing "Me and Bobby McGee" then it ended up being a post of some of Kris's greatest..
Glad you enjoyed this... Thank you
Dave- Oh gee I didn't know there was anyone else in the "A Star is Born" giggles.. He was a wonderful song writer..
Yale- Oh yes it was a great Sunday morning post, I thought so anyway.. and I am glad you thoughts so too... Thank you
l'Heure- You are so right, Life is too short and we should share the joy and happy moments.
Like I always say "Don't be afraid that life will end.. Be afraid it will never begin." Thank you! (Hey my buddy is single...just saying...well you never know..grins..pm me and let me know...giggles..)
Yes Kris wrote truth and life..(I was lucky to be able to play videos last night, I will get this laptop fixed, soon..)
Thank you
Jack- You are right on with that... He was a one of the greatest song writers, and his songs had so much deep true emotions to every word. Cool that he played one of your friends in a movie..Thank you
Boomer- Yes I am a baby boomer too, 1965. I have been told that about my writing, here on OS a few times over the last 1 -1/2. I write straight from the heart and soul. And I am still very young at heart. I still get carded too, even for cigarettes too. smiles..
Yes his songs, do make you stop, listen and take in every word of the songs. And OMG!!He has the voice to reach deep in your heart.
Thank you
LadyMiko- Yes 50s, 60s, and 70s, music- there is nothing like it, and it will never fade away. My girls even listen to it too, but hey they cut their teeth on that good old classic rock.. ROCK ON..
Thank you
LunchLady- Those were the days. It was a great reminder of what it used to be like.. We were rocking the jams last night, but then- well you know neighbors... I wish I was still on the farm again, because I could jam it as loud as it would go. I have a stereo in the house, in the studio, in my kitchen, in the shop, I even had one smaller one, that I would put on 2- 100ft extension cords to reach down by my hammock and I would just lay out the listening to music, getting lost and escaping life in the best way possible..
Thank you
Thank you
;) Loves ya!!!!!
But the most indelible memory, if not his best performance, was the night me and maybe 30 people saw him come stumbling into the Earl of Olde Towne in Chicago with Rita Coolidge propping him up, for a welcome back benefit party for 12 string legend Bob Gibson, who had just got out of prison. The were both dressed in black leather, and they got up and sang "Help Me Make it Through the Night," and he wasn't kidding one bit. I thought she was the most beautiful, most amazing woman I'd ever seen. About a year later they got married. Unforgettable.
