While You Loved Me

Secrets hard to keep

Close your eyes to guilt

Silently remembering

Calmness in my heart

Captured a lot of happiness

While you loved me

Picture perfect

Memories stealing

My every thought

Would rather hurt

Than feel nothing

Stillness of my soul

I lived while you loved me

Where Hope and Heartache meet

Passion and pain collide

Love leaves no choice

But forgiveness

Driving force of pride

Testing the foundation

Of trust and respect

Peace in my mind

I got a lifetime in while you loved me

Sometimes I think it may be better to not love than be hurt so bad by finding and then losing love. The way you say it is so true, so sad, so a part of life.

I don't know ... whether you've been sitting on this for a while or whether it's just opened ... but this is a leap, fireeyes - this is like a very fine wine - I can taste a difference, in this.
I love it. Complex, but ... wow, that lingering aftertaste ...
Do you think this is different, or is it just me ?
You're a long time between drinks - maybe that's it ...

Lunchlady- True and so sad to have found love and then lost it. I have learned sometimes that the love is never lost, it remains in our hearts and souls to help bring us peace when the picture perfect memories invade our minds. The person is the only they that is lost and gone.

Kim- Just opened..I have been writing while I haven't been on OS. I have a couple others that I have written. May post those soon, when time allows.
I would like to think it was different. Maybe it is the time between drinks, but I don't think it is that. I think it is the rediscoverying, reawaking, and soul searching that I have been doing lately. With the help of some really great friends and family.
Fine wine indeed.. Thank you for such a complement.

Divorced Bard-Yes you and Cloethe are right. the line is perfect. Any one in love should love like there is no tomorrow and make sure you get a lifetime in while you have the chance. Kiss like it is your first and like it is your last every time you kiss. Makes the memories special, the clam heart, peace in the soul, a love you will never forget or beable to walk away from. Thank you

Sometimes we question the value of love. The total though, exceeds the cost. I bought my grandson his first fishing pole.

Dave-Thank you for the compliment of it being beautiful. You are right love is beautiful when you have it and even when all you have are the memories. Things are okay with me.. hugs..

Bobbot- The value of love does exceed the cost by a long shot. There are only two kinds of endings to love stories in life. Boy leaves girl, girl leaves boy. It doesn't matter how they leave, someone is always left behind. You better be taking him fishing.. I am SO READY to go.. Thank you very much.. hugs

Boan1- To not feel is to not grow, sometimes you have to lose to win. I would rather hurt than feel nothing at all.. I am glad to be back around. Trying to work my way back on here a little at a time, when I can. I have missed you and everyone here on OS very much. Thank you.. hugs
