I was messing around this morning, searching on the web for different things. I tried searching out poems, poetry, stories by fireeyes24, just for the fun of it.
All 3 searches brought other websites where someone else was using my OpenSalon screen name, fireeyes24. They were stating that they wrote the poetry that I have written and posted here on Open Salon.
I have emailed two websites so far about the problem. After I get home from my family dinner I will do more searching to make sure there are no more.
Since this has happened to me, and I don't want someone else making claim on what I write, I have to do something on my part to make sure it doesn't happen again.
I have used my screen name for safety reasons, because of the true stories that I write. Now I can either delete my blog or I can come out with my real name, along with fireeyes24.
Since I don't want to leave OS, I love this place and everyone in it. OS is also my outlet and has helped me a lot over the last 2 1/2 years..
I have no choice but to come forward with my real name to make sure others don't steal my work.

(Full Disclosure: some of my stuff has been hacked. I've actually found a couple of my articles posted on Wikipedia. So far though, no one has tried to hijack my poetry.)

I have been working on a poetry book to publish (that is if my laptop will corporate) I don't need this stuff happening on the web.
But keep in mind that there are things that you can do about it.
Like with me even if I have to start using my real name, and with middle initial also, I will and deal with what comes of it later on.
That is why I posted this post today, to let everyone know.

Now I want to publish a poetry book. But with this going on around the web, what will I be the one questioned?
As for my other writings, stories about my life, I was just telling stories and it took off from there.. OS and the wonderful people who have read me for 2 1/2 yrs created a monster, because I never knew I had it in me.
Like you said I was really pissed off when I found them, steaming pissed off. But then as I was driving to my dad's I thought, Wow! They most be pretty damn good if someone is stealing them.. I was pissed off and flattered then..

Trouble is I have already poured my heart and soul out on the many pages on my OS blog. People here on OS know me by the stories I have told and the poems I have written. That is one of the parts that I love about OS is everyone knows my name and remembers who I am by the stories I have told.
So I ask you wouldn't that be changing myself, who I am, and what I stand for, if I changed what and how write?
I do see and totally understand what you are saying, trust me, I do.
If I go to another site then maybe that could be done.. But it would be hard to change who I am here on OS.
Using my real name along, with the stories that I have written, might be a bad thing for me to do, but I will do it to save what I have worked hard for here on OS.

I have in the past seen where others have stolen my screen-name, included with the 24. Some of those sites should have been listed under porn.
Hey I worked really hard for that name and there is a great story behind it. There is also a good reason for the 24 too. grins..
Now they are not only stealing my screen-name but my work too.
Can't they just write their own poetry and leave mine alone?
The one poem that they have used the most is the, "The Feel Of You- To My OS Crush." Okay I can SO back that one up as well, with witnesses too..
They say in the link that they have written 7 loves poems, but when I go to the sites I can't get to them to see which other ones that they have used.

I have two sites so far, that they have used and I have contacted both of those sites this morning. I told both sites that they need to come over to OpenSalon and read my blog to see that it is truly not the person that is posting on their sites, referring themselves as fireeyes24 on OpenSalon.
Crazy crazy what people will do. But they state that they have written 7 love poems and the one in the description on the search link is the one titled "The Feel Of You-To My OS Crush," they say they wrote it to their os crush.. hahaha!! whatever!!

I will do more searching and I will do whatever it takes to stop it and keep it from happening to me again. This morning I was searching on my cell so it only gives you so much and then stops, but I will keep going with it.

The two I found this morning were actually saying that they were fireeyes24 on OpenSalon. How easily that it is done today on the web. I would tell anyone to do a search of their names every once in a while, and to use many searches. Example: how I found the ones this morning I typed in poetry by fireeyes24 on OpenSalon, and then written by fireeyes24 on OpenSalon. I found two different sites, with two different people, both saying that they were fireeyes24 on OpenSalon.com and they had wrote 7 love poems. It references OpenSalon and my screen-name right in the description of the search to the link.
So not only are they stealing my work but they are also stealing the whole blog of fireeyes24 here on OpenSalon.
It really sucks, and I will fight it all the way if I have too. I refuse to let anyone make claim or take credit for all that I have worked for here on OpenSalon. I poured my heart and soul out on these pages. I will take a stand..
