Bio
I am a recent English BA out of the University of Minnesota. Not too big on pretentious banter, I do understand the need for it in one's life. So to be perfectly honest this is my outlet for my pretensions.

To be trite and programmed..."Hello world"

I recently joined this site as I stumbled upon a delectable article I found by Googling "Steppenwolf and Herzog." The article was written in such good taste that I felt impelled to comment. Prerequisite for the comment was a personal blog on the site, so...well you get it.

I'm a recent college grad with an English BA, but never enjoyed reading for pleasure until recently. My mind is too scattered to pay attention to one thing for very long, so I struggle to keep up with my literary endeavors. I do enjoy good literature though, and aspire to be a writer at some point in my life. My literary idols so far include Hesse, Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Joseph Addison, Samuel Johnson...I'll add more as I come up with them. If anyone has anything along these lines that they think I should read, you are more than welcome to drop a comment somewhere on this page.

Now that I have yet another blog (Uno and Dos being the other two), I'll try to keep up to date. While my other two are my struggles with daily writing, I'll reserve this one for more legitimate works -- things I'm proud to share. Anyways, thanks for stopping by and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, thanks for your comment on my post. I'm glad someone else sees thematic parallels between Hesse and Bellow (both Nobel Prize winners, too). On my site there's a link to my blog where I've posted lots more book talk, from that you'd get a pretty good idea of some of my recs.
Great. I've been looking for some good books. Thanks for replying Dr. Brown (would it be too base to compliment you on your most delicious cream soda? -- I apologize in advance if this treads on your pride.)
Ah, I only wish I could take credit for those sodas. Personally, my favorite was the black cherry.
Welcome to Open Salon. I look forward to reading more of your work.

'banter is pretentious'

I guess all the 'cats who have had bad marriages ... (?) ... sure warm up to others who have been there ... ? .... and sure love to cuddle-up on a couch on Halloween Night? I drove down Mass Ave today. The beautiful gated embassies are there along Mass Ave. I thought of Natalie Not Pedantic as I drove past the Australian embassy. Does that mean:`
I'm an old buzzard who flirts with young Australian women? I hope not!
Older Woman?
O, my O day O!
Welcome! Yes!
