On a political continuum with Extreme Liberal at 1 and Extreme Conservative at 10, I can be found at position “P.” I get a chuckle at much of what passes for liberal thought, but don’t much chuckle at anything conservative. Quite frankly, I consider American conservatism to be one of the most dangerous pieces of garbage ever to pollute the planet Earth. A major problem with this mindset is occasioned by the fact that I am a 72 year old, white male who works at a county golf course in one of the richest, most conservative counties in the United States. Since I get free golf (at five county courses) as part of my compensation package, I play 4 – 5 times a week. Bottom line: Goddam near everyone I work with or play golf with, almost all of whom are 70+ year old white, males, is a die-hard conservative. I love each and every one of ‘em—love every bone in their heads. Truly! Sure is a tough haul, though—‘cause I am not given to holding my tongue. Just think of all the fun I have at work and play! Don’tcha envy me?

DID THEY JUST FIX OPEN SALON????

I was locked out of OS for almost two hours this afternoon...and just managed to get back on. And I am navigating around the site at almost breakneck speed.

 

Can the big fix have actually happened today?

 

Or am I just dreaming?

Just got back from some business...and things are still fast as can be.

There had to be some tweaking done today!

Well, it may not be fixed...but it sure as hell is working a lot faster for me than it has at any time during the last several weeks.

Anyone else noticing this?

Frank you just need to relax more, come on out here to Montana and have a couple beers with me. Hell there are way more Democrats here than Republicans - they even come out in the light of day and hold fund-raisers. I used a magic marker the other night at a bar and while they weren't looking changed their sign from "Democrat Fund Raiser in Progress" to "Communist Fund Raiser in Progress". No won caught the change until the next day, LOL.

I'm sure it's only temporary. I've had moments when OS seems to work like any other site, too, but it didn't last.

The good thing about being a pessimist is that you're rarely disappointed...

PVM…would love to down a few beers with you…but getting out to Montana really seems a stretch right now. My wife would just love to hear me say, “I’m going to Montana to drink some beer with a friend.” (She’s the breadwinner these days, and no chance she’d be able to come along.)

I really love doing brews, though, and will think of your offer when next I am imbibing. Probably will be in the Big Apple sometime next week. I go there quite a bit for walking, trips to museums, and lots of libations. Nancy and I have a boat trip on Hudson planned for next week…jazz cruise from Mid-town to the Statue of Liberty, under the Brooklyn Bridge in the East River, back around Battery Park and to the dock. Little over two hours of delightful views of the New York and New Jersey skylines…and lots of babes!

Norwonk, Mission…thanks for stopping by. Things have slowed down since I last posted, but I still am hopeful. Norwonk, gotta try that pessimism some day. (Unfortunately, “some day”, according to Tom Cruise’s character in Knight and Day…is code for never!)

It comes and goes, but from where I'm sitting it has gotten progressively better over the past few weeks, although it still has the occasional puddle of quicksand ;).

Rated for it is what it is.
