Bio
On a political continuum with Extreme Liberal at 1 and Extreme Conservative at 10, I can be found at position “P.” I get a chuckle at much of what passes for liberal thought, but don’t much chuckle at anything conservative. Quite frankly, I consider American conservatism to be one of the most dangerous pieces of garbage ever to pollute the planet Earth. A major problem with this mindset is occasioned by the fact that I am a 72 year old, white male who works at a county golf course in one of the richest, most conservative counties in the United States. Since I get free golf (at five county courses) as part of my compensation package, I play 4 – 5 times a week. Bottom line: Goddam near everyone I work with or play golf with, almost all of whom are 70+ year old white, males, is a die-hard conservative. I love each and every one of ‘em—love every bone in their heads. Truly! Sure is a tough haul, though—‘cause I am not given to holding my tongue. Just think of all the fun I have at work and play! Don’tcha envy me?

PIX FROM THE NYC MEET 11-11-11

Rate: 33 Flag

I was busy drinking and talking to the ladies. Didn't take many pictures, but was smart enough to give my camera to someone else to take pictures for me. So I managed to get into several of them! Hope the other pictures (there were hundreds taken) get out here soon. I wanna see 'em also.

Not sure why the women in the place didn't want to get into any of the pictures with us, but we were all being gentlemen.

I had a fabulous time...and it appeared that everyone else did also.

Thanks for the first round of pictures! You are all such good looking people! ~r
Those smiles are something! It looked fun! What a hoot to see the actual person behind the pen. OS Occupy!?
Look at the smile on that birthday girl! If I had known all you hunks were going to be there, I might have made the trip all the way from Atlanta. My buddy Cranky looks great in blue, Frank's hair and beard are impeccable, designanator's smile lights up the place, and NeilPaul has been lying to us about his hotness factor. Great pics, Frank.

Seeing your pictures reminds me that there are real people behind the words!
A fine lot, all of you, especially the birthday girl -- she's the betht.
Nice, thanks for sharing with us Frank.
Sorry I missed it! I was at another birthday party! Looks like fun.
HOLY CRAP! Cranky looks just like his Av! Bwahahhahaha!!!
I'm sorry I missed all the fun. Damn.
I would have loved to be in that room! All those luminaries! Designanator, you have a nice smile!
Great job Frank!!....thanks for posting these photos of our fine friends!
Happy Birthday Beth!!!
Very sorry I missed this Frank. Thanks for the pics. It sure looks like high spirits were flowing.
Hummmph. Envy, yup that's the word.
Frank ~ it was wonderful meeting you last night and thanks for the great post and photos showing Beth's birthday party and OS meet up! I've got a bit of HD video here I made throughout the evening, plus photos that I am working my way through to present in a post, as well.

I'm reminded of Peter Frampton's song "Do You Feel Like We Do" this morning:

"Well, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand.
Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine?
Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been.
Come on, let's do it again."
how fun. So sorry I missed it!
Looks like a fun time was indeed had by all! I'm glad you guys had fun, and more than a little jealous....
It was great meeting you too, Frank. I like gregarious people. And Beth seems as delightfully upbeat as you'd guess from her blog.

@Safe Bet's Amy: I'll take that as a compliment! (The Australian beer's have clouded my judgment.)
Thanks for the photos!
How cool to see real live people and faces : )
Happy Birthday, Beth! Hope you had a blast !
Cranky has such a sweet looking stomach. What good looking people! Happy birthday, Beth.
How could I have missed it after trying so hard last year to set up a renion either in my house in Baldwin or in Central Park?
I love pics! :D Thanks for sharing these
I'm so jealous. A year ago I got to meet Cranky & Designanator. There's nothing like a good OS meet-up. thanks for the pictures.
Can't wait to see more!
Thanks Frank for the pics. Now - let's see the ones in the Vault! ha ha R for getting home!
I'm still reeling, I had such a good time last night. Amazing group of people, fun space...loved the whole thing. You're perfectly delightful.
These are wonderful and made me smile. Everyone looks so happy and friendly! Cranky doesn't look cranky at all. Thank you Frank!
Cranky Cuss is the biggest misnomer of OS. He's a total sweetheart. Great laugh and smile. Warm, friendly. Gave me an awesome mug!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, glad you all had such fun, and thanks for sharing the pictures of your great good time, blah blah blah. I'm jealous and can't be happy for you. Goodbye.
C'mon. I want more pics and more story. I see Beth is alive and well here. As is Cranky .I want more pics and I want video too!

Pretty please.
I got some of the photos from Les, our photographer, last night. But not all. Once I do, they'll be posted asap.
@fernsy: Last time you were complimenting my jowls, now my stomach. You worry me!
Looks like you had swell time! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Thank you for posting, Frankie! It was a delight to meet you.
Hey all of youse! “You are welcome” to everyone who thanked me for the pix. Looking forward to seeing more from the others. Thank all for commenting.

I truly was a great night. All of the people were delightful and fun and the kind of people you would want to party with often (and seemed like the kind of people who would want to do so often!). We certainly have a large enough New York and environs contingent to get-together every once in a while…so let’s keep that in mind.

Hope Cindy and Abrawang can make the next one…and anyone else within easy commute.

Designanator, Cranky, Beth, Autumn…we partied our best. Next time we will try harder and see if at least one of us can end up in lock-up overnight or in an emergency room somewhere…just to show we are really bad-ass partiers—and it makes for a better story for the people who did not make the gig.
Lovely! Thanks for sharing; it's so great to see our friends from Open Salon.
faces! great work...
