This is Hoaggarden. He is my daughter's cat. He also came from the local shelter. Hoag was found with his mother on the side of a road. He is basically an imbecile. Even the shelter staff admitted to it. You can hold him and drop him and he will invariably land on his head with no apparent damage. He has no attention span to speak of and no fear of anything. He is very nosy and will throw caution to the wind and rush headlong into any situation.
My daughter would shower and he would stand outside the tub and howl. Eventually, he learned to get into the bottom of the shower and would get wet. He never seemed to notice that he was soaked. My daughter moved to Switzerland and could not take him so I volunteered to look after him. He got along with my three cats. They are very mellow guys so they did mind his young cat craziness. I kept thinking that he would outgrow his kitten ways but he is 5 years old and still has the brain power of a pumpkin.
Hoag loves attention, even negative attention. My cats learned to stop their bad behaviour when they were sprayed with water. Hoag saw the water bottle soaking as a refreshing pause during his destruction of a plant. He liked to push things, glasses, radios, books, anything that he could move with his head off tables and bureaus especially in the middle of the night.
Thankfully, my daughter came home after three years and took him and my son-in-law's cat with them when they got their own place. I did manage to teach him to sleep on the pillow next to me, a habit which my son-in-law hates. However, Hoag's friendly nature makes up for his faults.
