Life After Debt

This is the way most biographies go :-

(1) We are born

(2) We get into debt

(3) We get out of debt (if we try hard enough and/or luck is on our side)

(4) There is a short period left before we die

America is in trouble because of excessive concentration… Read full post »

God and Money ... Introduction

The collection of books which we know as “The Bible” challenges the modern world in many important ways … not the least of which is its seeming irrelevance to so many

This book seeks to re-affirm the position of The Bible as a central guiding force for the modern… Read full post »

America is doomed?

There is almost no hope for the bottom 200 million Americans.

The US is changing into a central command and control society with the top 2 % stealing the wealth of the nation.  It may take as long as the USSR to implode -- ??   70 years.  Read full post »

America was founded on the concept of shared common interest ... the very name United States of America confirms it

The diligence of the founders ensured that (for the most part) the weakest shared in the gains (unless they were indigenes)

Murder in the Cathedral

TS Eliot the author of this play was reviled between WW1 and WW2 for his Christianity ... in a period where atheism fuelled by war memories was enjoying enormous growth, and Christian authors were attacked for their beliefs

Soviet America

The Oligarchs of America are happy looting the joint as fast as
they can (with Obama's help), impoverishing the bottom 100 million Americans even more than they are at present.

The Top 2% control most of the wealth.
The Bottom 40 % have only 10 % of the spending power.

Avoiding Church is A Waste of Time

I am really sorry for people who don't like going to Church

Church is the best place on earth to be on a Sunday and Christian beliefs rank with the best ... and may just possibly contain greater truth

It is worth examining them to find out ... only the intellectually lazy don't… Read full post »

It's lonely in the monastery

The Monastery is an invention of my mind ... a place to retreat from day to day concerns

I am not an ordained minister ... just a lonely friar (self-appointed)

I have no qualifications other than a concern for others

Please talk to me ... it is so quiet here

 Friar… Read full post »

New every morning is the love

New every morning is the love
Our wakening and uprising prove;
Through sleep and darkness safely brought,
Restored to life and power and thought.

New mercies, each returning day,
Hover around us while we pray;
New perils past, new sins forgiven,… Read full post »

More on Pastoral Care

I would like to hear from anyone who is suffering from depression who enjoys listening to classical music

In one of these two areas at least ... we will have something in common

If you believe in God, or would like to do so, we could talk about that
