The program and speech I wish the President would present to America next week:  Ten years ago the nation united as a people when we were attacked by terrorists. There was no mention of party or politics. No liberals or conservatives. No red states or blue states. We were all one United States of America just as we were when we defeated our enemies in the past. And this year on May 1st, we defeated the enemy that attacked us on September 11 ten years ago. Americans have never been defeated by any threat when we've united together in a common cause.  Last month the nation witnessed unity across municipal and state lines when the East Coast was threatened by a natural disaster. Because of that united stand, many lives that might have been lost were saved. America is at its best when united. United we overcame our enemies in two world wars.  United we overcame economic devastation and joblessness during the Great Depression. Now we're faced with an economy that has created fewer jobs and greater poverty. This is a disaster for our nation that calls for a national response. I'm calling for all Americans to join in unity to help create needed jobs and restore the prosperity our country enjoyed just eleven years ago.  And I'm calling on the man who helped bring about that prosperity and left us with an economic surplus at the end of his Presidency to come JOIN-UP with wealthy Americans willing to give more to create jobs for willing to work Americans who are unemployed and under employed. I've asked former President Bill Clinton to head up the Jobs Opportunity Initiative for National Unity with Prosperity. If anyone can help bring prosperity to America, President Clinton can. He did it before and he'll do it again. He will be joined by our nation's wealthiest citizens, including Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, and others who've pledged their own money to unite with others in the top tier to partner with small businesses and create jobs and job training programs that will put America back to work.  These jobs will include building up our infrastructure in areas identified by members of Congress in their individual districts and states. They will also include on-the-job training in technology and green jobs, many in small businesses that will benefit from subsidized job training programs or partnerships   with larger corporations to supply or sell materials or products. In partnership with wealthy Americans willing to pledge millions, even billions to this effort, the federal government will match all money pledged to create ten million new jobs in America during the next year. Our goal is ten million jobs by Labor Day 2012.  We're asking all Americans to JOIN-UP and unite as a country to create jobs. We need our wealthiest citizens to invest some of their wealth and those of our citizens who need work to invest their time and energy into learning new job skills or using job skills that have gone unused to re-build our nation's infrastructure city by city, county by county, state by state, and region by region. And to learn the skills and technology that will revive American ingenuity and create more Steve Jobs to produce the next wave of high-tech marvels.  America, we need to unite the way we did ten years ago when we put country over party, citizenship over partisanship and unity over our differences to join together in mourning. Our mourning for those killed by terrorists on September 11, 2001, will never end. We will never forget. And we will always remember the lives lost that day. But we must dry our tears to see with a clear vision our future as a nation. "Weeping endureth but a night, for joy comes in the morning."  Nothing gives American citizens more joy than having a job or creating a job that supports our families and communities. The night of weeping is ending and the sun is rising. Joy is coming, America. JOIN-UP! Small business owners and entrepreneurs in need of capital, partner with larger corporations as suppliers or retailers and grow your business.
