Observations From the Swamp Many folks think we live in the nether regions of the earth here in Toledo, Ohio. However, Toledo is the birthplace of jazz great, Art Tatum, not to mention many other distinguished and accomplished AfrAms (African-Americans) who often remain unheralded and unrecognized in their home town. This swamp is a petrie dish swarming with undiscovered talent that the world may never know because there are too many slimey creatures down here in the swamp pulling down anyone who tries to climb out and come out into the warmth of the sun. This diva climbed into the swamp with one purpose - to rid the world of slime!

OCCU-PIE: Thanksgiving dessert with a message

OCCU-PIE

Ingredients:
1 All-American apple pie
1 can or tub of whipped cream
Fresh cherries

Directions:
Cover the pie with the whipped cream. Use cherries to form the letters O-C-C-U-P-Y. Take photos and post them on OS or fb on Thanksgiving Day. Bon appetite!

Great! The possibilities are endless. I chosr apple pie for obvious reasons, but I may make my famous strawberry ice cream pie and spell out OCCUPY with red licorice. However it's done, I hope this pie will show up on dining room tbles all over the country! Let's support the movement and pass the dessert!

I've gotta try this with my family's Thanksgiving Apple Tart! (We've been a pumpkin pie clan for decades, but everyone's a little tired of it.)
