Yes, I got the job. Almost one dollar more per hour than my last grocery-store job where I did ten times the work and always without a "Thank-You."
I'm just a front-end gopher: bagger, get carts, etc., but they want to train me to do cashier, too. If job in deli or produce comes up, I'm in line they said. I'll be glad to be out of the apt. It took me almost one year to get this small part-time job.
I was amazed at the friendliness of the managers compared to my last job. The woman who interviewed me said, "We're like family here." My response? "Well, it was a family where I worked before, too. A dysfunctional family."
Will I be rich? Nope. But, as a former teacher and artist, I never was. Just let me pay my bills with a bit left over. Now, when I pay my utility bill, I can contribute a few bucks to those who can't. My grandma would be happy.
Thanks to all of you who sent me positive support!!!
Now.... will that be plastic or paper . . .
