Very nice. Very.

Love that first tree one so much.

Thank you.
Beautiful pics from the eye of a true artist. (Rated)
These are truly wonderful pictures. rated

Slowing down is always a good thing. Look at what we miss otherwise.
How many people in the world would have seen the steam off that ancient ash? Not many. Stunning.
Those are some killer images, G. Light does cause some wonders to play on in our minds, no?
All the pictures are wonderful, but the play of light in the first one is amazing.
Magical, as usual. What a gift you have, Gary.
Thank you everyone. I hope the weekend gives up more wonders for all of us.
These images and words just made me calmer and more open to seeing. How'd you do that? Rated.
The eye sees the wonder
Enlightened hearts enjoys the feast
Shadows call from within
Nature's sturdy structure sways hello
We answer smiling softly

So true....both photography and thoughts. Beautiful.
There is constant change, shift, shadow, light. I look at these pictures and ask myself, "How can I ever ever be bored?" Your post and your pictures answers, "Never." Thank you Gary.
Beautiful. Your appreciation of the small beautiful things of life wonderful also. r
Gary, beautiful photos of the various ways that light and shadow interplay!
Your eye is finely attuned to the beauty of everyday sights. That is a wonderful trait to possess, but better still, you are able to convey what you see to a larger audience. That is the great trait of an artist.
I love your photo essays. The contrasts of dark and light are ever-captivating to us... since the cave days, I suspect. The most primal symbol of death vs. life.
Don't you love the light... Thanks, Gary.
fascinating images, "folk lamp illuminated" made me look and look again, "steam off an ancient ash" so carefully observant, "october late afternoon" droll and imaginative
Thank you all so much for visiting...I hope to catch up w each of you individually...Chuck, you always have such wonderful verses to share, not just with me, but all our friends.
"Wandering with a rare space in the mind, where tasks are not pressing in…for several moments..."

How much escapes us, our senses, our awareness, our joy and wonder?

Thanks for finding some of it.

Very nice to look at and enjoy, thank you Gary!
As always, your vision opens up a new way of SEEING, not just looking, at the world. Amazing.
I tried to pick a favorite, but couldn't. They are all lovely.
What a treat. I just came in from having a cup of coffee in the yard. It's 65 degrees in my part of Michigan, a glorious day that has brought everyone in the neighborhood outside to play and visit. This post is like dessert after such a lovely afternoon! Thank you.
Perfect -- and wistful like autumn itself. Thanks, Gary.
Beautiful, Gary. The oak is really something. I think I'll take a little trek tomorrow.
I always feel better after I've read one of your posts, this one no different. You have no idea how much peace you bring to my chaotic life with your images. Thank you.
Waking,
The tree is a very good friend to all of us in Bloomington, and we may lose it to the Ash Bore Beetle. It is heartbreaking, but the city has no choice but to cut down all its Ash trees. The day they cut into this one will be a dark day…..indeed…

To be a true artist, or true to one’s art..I just don’t know anymore Roger. I appreciate your comment very much, and the sentiment is so gratifying. I just do not know from one day to the next where genuineness lies in the creative world. All seems so much like “artifice” and less like “art.”
ONL, you are kind!...Anytime Buffy. I hope you are feeling better and better with each day…Oh Robin….thanks so much…and Jimmy is right about slowing the f#*#$%k down. We have missed so much already, and the weekend just started…Roger, maybe it was just the rareness of the occasion, or the mystery of the angle of the light. My neighbor alerted me to it…Light makes us interested Michael..We are phototropic in the first order. At homePilgrim, I am happy you liked the first one. Lea, I would gladly share my gift with all of you..If you are all willing to be mere scribblers..C.K., if it did that, then it’s working and worth it!!!

Love back to you Chuck!

Ben, me too, economy after the long stories give us more space for the imagination, just like the minimal architecture of the mid to late 20th century…Patricia, I am very happy you have seen this post that way…thank you Mare….believe me, if given the chance, I can bore a rock to death…
Rita, I am glad you see this…designanator, they play as well, especially in the morning and late afternoon.

Steve, thank you so much for the fine words, and I hope I can come close to that…
Silk, You have been very kind about my short blogs and images. I appreciate your comments and your fine work/reviews as well!

Dynomite….I do….except when it is in my eyes when I am sleepy…

Roy, I have a great appreciation for you comments and the style of your reactions. Thanks again for your kind support of the efforts here.

Rick, It does escape us all too often and forgive me for being absent so much.
Best wishes, G

Kellylark, you are welcome my friend!

Owl, I hope to wipe away some of the sand…….

Sweet, I will pick one for you…..let’s see,…Hummm. Uh, I just can’t choose….sorry..

Michigan holds a good part of my soul. My brother passed away there, in Pestoskey
Michigan enthralls the nation with it’s beauty, and it’s stewardship of the two greatest lakes….

Thank you Steve. You are the funniest guy I know….maybe dead even with Bob Eckstein.

Hello Julie, Now you take some Bear repellant w you!

Sally, now that’s a very rewarding feeling to know the posts make you feel better…
Art seems to do that for some of us. It heals the soul…truly….
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and your eye is especially gifted at finding beauty
Oh! As usual, your images are wonderful...good thoughts too! Isn't the weather in Illinois oddly beautiful this week!?
Mr. Gary Justis, sir, Until looking at these photographs, I had no idea that such beauty lived in Bloomington. Of course, an artist's eye must rest a while on what seems ordinary and inconsequential to most rushing folks. I enjoy your eye, Mr. Justis; and I want that study, just long enough to toss some wrinkled paper balls here and there and leave a few cookie crumbs behind.
Hello Tom!...thank you for the kind sentiment. It would be great to have Barry’s talent at capturing the moment in more vivid detail.

Yekdeli, yes, it has been beautiful, a welcome relief from the continual rain of October.

Hello Anthony, I am happy to see a new poet arrive here! Best wishes!
Framed in light. Again.
Your first photo is simply magical..... I like living in the shadows these days.... more and more it seems. Beautiful.
it's so nice to come to rest for a moment.
