c o v er s.. allergy medicine kicking in..:)
Gary, these look great! You clearly know the correct night exposure settings to be able to capture such amazing photos of the clouds!
Thanks you folks...Linda, another person said the same thing.
John, I am not the level of someone like Barry Doyle. I rely a great deal on automatic, w some exposure adjustment up and down, taking many captures of the same subject.
Every time I see a fantastic photo it makes me want to shoot some! These are very beautiful.
How well chance treats you (us)!
No words necessary . . . this is gorgeous . . .
I wish I could immerse myself in the sky in that second photo. Thank you.
Hello Buffy, thanks for your kind note and visit!

Catch, Nature balances it believe me...I see a good deal of awful stuff

Hello Owl, thank you
Bleue, It does look inviting, almost like a delicious illuminated dessert.
Gorgeous, as usual.
Very nice colours, great photos!!!
Very nice colours, great photos!!!
Your photos are magnificent, you put new meanings in the words you use to describe them.

Lea...Hello...you are...always..thanks for the visit

Blufeather, thank you for coming over..

Monsieur Chariot...I'm always honored to see you come by...wishing youa fine day and evening..
beautiful Gary :) I often look at skies and pick out colors I would use to paint them- that second sky would have completely mesmerized me
Poetess, what a lovely comment. thank you my friend
Yes Julie...Painting the second one would be a problem for old Master technique; laying down a warm ground and laying the blue tones on top. The complementary colors would make it strong and vivid.
Thanks for coming over Julie
Gary, these are beautiful.
Fantastic photos.
Both of these pictures are amazing. R
Beautiful work Gary.
How gorgeous is this?
Beautiful colours Gary. Such mystery, and drama, in the first ; the second I love for the light and the moment too, but that beautifully detailed house - wow !
Hello ~ beautiful frame, evocative capture; architectonic and climatological, window and sky.
Ahhh, thank you for these. They are just stunning.~r
The first image is very gothic. It looks like a ghost is looking out the window of the pink-lighted room. Was this shot with available lighting? Was the image enhanced in PhotoShop? I ask because the colors look hyper-real. Either way both shots are amazing. R
That night photo is amazing.
These are gorgeous photos Gary! Thanks for sharing~

Striking top image. It was so nice to come upon this moon again.
Soliloquey level, almost couquetish-- thouroughly rescues this weary-eyed countryboy....opening day wa s a fiasco but it should be just one grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat summer!

Lots of music in your light captivating moments, GJ, innovative and yet wonderful: its laditude Midwestern introducing the viewer to the solitude and patience of your passion within these several shots.
The first one is magical!
That cover photo blows me away. Edward Hopper visits Transylvania. The bottom photo could be a painting, too. It reminds me of a style I've seen before, but slips my mind. These are both beautiful, haunting works of art.
Stacey, good to see you, thanks!

Hello Myriad, thank you.

Heart, my amazement is with the character of the skies in this part of the world

Rita, thank you for coming over

Kathy, Well, I was thinking the same about you and I know the answer…

Kim, thanks so much for the visit and the typo mention

Inverted, Hello to you, like the encapsulated description.

Joan, you are welcome and thank you very much

Thank you Gigi

Trudge, yes, it is available lighting. The security light happened to be on in this picture (I waited forever for it to go off for a different look, but it was not as interesting). I increased contrast only slightly. The camera was set to a low-light setting, with a longer exposure, so the colors are enhanced slightly. One would however be surprised at the saturation of color during some of these prairie nights.

Ink, many of us are fascinated with the light airy qualities of clouds. Maybe it helps us to fanaticize about flight.

Thanks Cathy…good to see you!

Rw, thanks!

Hello Susie, yes the moon gives us so many faces…

Thanks Trilogy.

Thanks Haley!

J.P., thanks for this wonderfully varied comment. I am partial to our latitude here. There’s also a quiet stillness.

Tichaona, thank you!

Hello Matt, I am a fan of Edward Hopper. I’m sure you know we have “Nighthawks” in the Chicago Art Institute. No one could paint windows with such mystery and character. Thank you for you thoughtful comment…
Wow, wonderful photos. My home is Kansas where there are the most gorgeous skies I've ever seen. These are super! R
Sheba, I know what you mean about Kansas skies. I grew up there, as a few of our OS colleagues did: Greg Correll, Nana, Trig, and a few others. the skies there are incredible.
Oh my...no thanks? Did I do something wrong?
Algis...Forgive me for the mistake! Of course I am happy you came by and thank you for the visit. I admire your work on OS and I have to admit, I'm jealousing sometimes. You ae introducing us to incredible images that we would never otherwise see. Please keep doing your wonderful pieces!! Best wishes to you and your family....
I love your images Gary, that Cerulean Sky is just stunning, and a perfect balance of different light. Well done, it fires the imagination.
So beautiful. Thank you. Something, the light in the window, the roof, made me think of Hopper.
That gilded sky reminds me of the ocean. Definitely a moment to be preserved! Thank you.
Hello Jane, thanks…trying to find images with some meaning. Barry is very good at this and he teaches me a great deal with his images…

Barry! I was just talking about you! Thanks for your kind, supportive comment. As I said above, your work teaches me a great deal. I appreciate your art very much.

Consonant, Yes, I look at repros of Hopper often. The Art Insitute of Chicago has some very fine pieces by him.

Geezerchick, I agree, something about the quality of the configurations, even though overall, the ocean is much different in form.
love your work but you know that :-)
