If the people in power of our nations continue denying its warnings, science cannot save us.....

Ug.... more tediuous junk science propaganda. When will the left get it that their eco god has died and slow and embarrassing death.

Time to create a new diety to worship.

Maybe you guys can go back to worshipping the moon. That seemed to work out okay for you and it makes just as much sense as global warming.
Please forward this to Bachmann, Perry, et al, who all too obviously get their information from comic books.
Simple and excellent. Really...No more saved by Science...
Thanks folks!

Hi Stephen, good to meet you...yeah, if we liberals but had the right deities to worship like you folks have (Ronald Reagan come to mind) maybe we wouldn't be so darned preoccupied with health and prosperity for everyone. Sure would save alot of money....ya think?
very funny, clever and very well said too. thank you.
Thanks for coming by FM....Thanks for the kind comment Algis, and Tom...good to see you.
good stuff, gary. nice to see you branching into other art avenues and adding a dash of good sense and political humor. SGH is making the rounds today, our new thorn.
Yes, natural resources are endless, and oil is created by chemical reactions inside the earth, so we will never run out.

What is this "eco god" anyway? It is astounding that not wanting to waste and looking for ways to minimize our impact on the planet is looked upon with suspicion.
As always, your imagery speaks volumes.
thanks Candace...the cartoons tend to have more sense than I do sometimes.... Steve and I are trying to keep the message direct and simple, yet with some layers.

Jeanette, that perplexes me too. Does it not make sense that wealth comes from health, happiness and prosperity.

Sally! thanks. It's great to see you and thanks for the sweet comment.
We discussed the power of keeping things short and simple earlier this summer. This does it.
I like this a lot. I wish you could do a post card campaign with it on it and send these to every repup licking elected orifice.
damn...why hasn't anyone sent me the memo about short and simple?

I'm long and convoluted, thank you very much !
Hear, hear, Gary Justis!
Love it. Short and simple work. Hammer and nails, short and simple. Battery powered screwdriver/drill, lots of plugins for the drill, saw, ripper, laser level and GPS plumb-bob, not so simple.

If only we could get our political party to do short and simple, we'd be golden.
-r-
Sorry, meant "...if only we could get our political *parties* to do short and simple..."
The denial of science crowd is easy. They're like pesky bees. Oh, no wait. . .the bees are disappearing. . .bad analogy.

I guess I better email Rick Perry and ask him what to think. . .
Didn't get to this yesterday. Wow, what a way to start the morning. The denial of science is scary, and as you point out, the consequences might be disastrous.
Also, yes we did….I learned a lot from you! Thanks

Sheila, now that’s a very creative nickname for the Republicans. Maybe I will make a postcard of it…

Monkey, I missed it too. Too late for me though…I may have used up all my long ones!

Owl, Hello and thanks!

Dunnit, much simpler w/o electricity…maybe we will be without as time goes on.
As for the Govt. It will only continue getting more layers of complexity.

Roger, I didn’t know he “thought” with much depth. His history is lacking , and it’s obvious he is playing to his conception of a brad constituency..one that is loud, but smaller than the vast pool of common sense folks in this country.

Steve….yeah, we have to listen to people of science when there are thousands who share the same view. I’m not convinced so many scientists could each have a self-serving agenda as Perry is convinced they do.
Hear, hear! Stark realities, but who needs to read and listen is out buyin' votes.
@ my friend, Stephen Pls get your head outa the sand
@ Gary this is terrific r.
Thanks so much Mango, Thanks Jonathan.
I wanted to say our cartoons are co-written, Steve Arney and myself.
We take turns with the overall concept, and share the drawing, going through many iterations. The concept for "The G.O.P. Spring is Steve's....Good job Dr. (equiv)Arney!
Good one, Gary and Steve. Right on the money. (puns intended)
I do not know Stephen, is he joking??? If he is serious....well....I guess we will never have much in common.
ps: this is a very good post.
I think the piece speaks to U.S. consumerism, our treatment of the world as if it's a disposable cigarette lighter. While the GOP gets the hit here, it goes beyond that, and I know I am more than a little guilty myself.-sa
