Gubernatorial Hopeful Sends Racist Emails

NEW YORK - He wants to be governor of New York. But Carl Paladino is under attack today for sending racist emails.

Among the missives Paladino, who seeks the Republican nomination for governor and who has the support of the Tea Party, emailed was a video mocking President Obama - one that's popular among white supremacists. It depicted an African tribal dance and is described as an "Obama inauguration dress rehearsal."  Another email contains the "n" word.

He also emailed porn - including one that involves bestiality.

He's lost the support of his own party. The state Republican party has joined the Democratic party in condemning Paladino, a millionaire, who maintains he is not a racist.

Paladino has shown no indication that he will withdraw from the race. It won't be particularly shocking if he continues his run. What will be shocking is that, in this day and age, anyone would actually vote for him.

I haven't seen the video, but the description is in bad taste. Calling Obama a nigger is just a white trash cracker thing to do.

Seems to me the Right Wing-controlled media and the Repubs in general are becoming more openly racist every day! Most of this constant thwarting of Obama is racism. Just wait until the immigration debate begins now that the Repubs are more aggressive and open about their real motivation!

Ours is a racist nation. Racism is a poison, a cancer that is destroying us as we so rightly deserve! Daily, we mock the words "with freedom and justice for all"!

And Americans think ours is the "greatest nation on earth"? Really? No racist nation is a great nation. Period. Ever.

I completely agree with Soap Box Amy and I hope that New Yorkers are not blinded by this guys money or party designation. I have seen it before, people's allegience to their party and the ridiculous danger that ignites for the rest of us. People in business and wealthy think they have to be Republicans, well, those days are really over. You have to be a crazy nut to be a republican these days. Now, before the conservative right infiltrated the Republicans, it was different. Rated.

I got hit with my usual evening full of spam and while deleting the spam at least one legitimate comment - yours perhaps others - were eliminated inadvertently as well.
