Five myths about gay people debunked

Rate: 2 Flag

Here is something handy that you might want to share with those less-enlightened in your circle, kind of like a red card that you can show every time you come across someone who erroneously believes that all animals are heterosexual, or that gay relationships don't last, or that most pedophiles are gay. False, false, and false. In fact, a 1994 study, led by Carole Jenny of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, surveyed 269 cases of children who were sexually molested by adults. In only two out of the 269 cases, the offender was identified as being gay or lesbian. And this is but one example of research setting things straight (pun intended).

And for those who think that gay parents aren't as good as a father and a mother can be or that being gay is a choice? Again, false and false. Check out Live Science's debunking of five myths about gay people here.
