The VERY New Colossus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
"Unless you don't speak english and plan on living in Alabama...
Then you can go fuck yourself!"
Okay...
In Tim James defense, maybe he's telling the truth at the end...it's not really him behind what he says...it's the evil businessman he had for dinner.

How.embarrassing...
The bottom line is this...the only blue areas of Alabama are Birmingham and the counties around Montgomery. There are less then 30% black in the state and less than 3% hispanic...legally. Mr. James is just trying to get what's known as the "farmers edge" as it called by the repubs down there to edge out the other republican opponent...a dem doesnt have a chance. And bigotry towards blacks and hispanics still hugely exists...ironically...without the illegals..the same farmers would never be able to run their farms. In my opinion...Mr. James doesn't give one shit about who speaks what...he cares who will vote for him.
And as far as being a businessman...please...the money gained by eliminating the paperwork doesnt come close to the money lost by what he proposes...but what do I know...I'm just some guy. I respect all peoples political beliefs as long as it doesnt cause or illicit harm to others...but Mr. James is a douchebag.
:D
You have to love American exceptionalism.
Guess what? When I lived in MD, a friend told me they have someone who will read it to you if you are illiterate. Her niece couldn't read well enough to pass it, so she was legally allowed help. Now, shouldn't she be able to READ English? I'll bet most states probably have this provision. Isn't it more frightening that you would be born and raised and educated here and not be able to read it?
