- My Story: I moved from the Midwest (Michigan) to the country of California in 1981. I have steadfastly refused to shed my Midwest values. I believe the most important Midwest value is truth, to answer someone truthfully even if it's difficult. California is the land of telling people what they want to hear, not what is true. Perhaps the entire country has fallen into this inescapable trap. We are a nation that has become too impatient to drill down to the truth. If it can't be explained on a bumper sticker we don't want to hear it. A full-time job in the medical field for 25 years makes me aware that the working middle class is to busy to figure out the truth, we need people in important positions to weed through the facts for us and give us the truth, and the options. I believe conservatism works against this concept, fighting for the elite and lying to the rest. I've recently started my second marriage and my second career, in that order. My marriage and family comes first and I plan to work hard for them from here on out.

The Kennedy Bill
Ask any health worker, who comes first, the insurance company or the patient. Try it, I have. First comes a look of ridicule then comes the canned response, “we must have the insurance information before we can do anything.” It’s true, it’s a fact. Somehow and somewhere in our… Read full post »

Thank You to Our Fallen Soldiers
I remember in the late 60s when the security of a playtime foxhole, a one by one nailed to a couple of two by fours as a gun, and a dozen snowballs lined up as hand grenade was considered good time fun. I never entered the military, I was never asked/… Read full post »
