The Republicans are so full of it this year it’s almost amazing ANYONE would vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket. Romney Schmomney and Lyin’ Ryan are out on the stump every day (except for Labor Day when the Robo-Mitt was again showing us he’s “human enough” to ride a boat around….), yelling at Americans that things are no better than they were four years ago.
Really? You mean the downturn never happened? You mean that Wall Street didn’t actually defraud America of $13 trillion? You mean the economy didn’t almost keel?
I’m here to tell you the Republicans are just out-and-out lying once again. Of course things are better. Just look at the stock market. It’s 100 percent higher than it was in 2008. Business is good for most people. The economy has just about fully recovered, but if the Republicans don’t give-up their crush for Grover Norquist, by January the house of cards may once again fall around us all. Except Grover Norquist. He’s got enough money from his daddy that he doesn’t have to care about the economy or about revenue for self-defense or even helping the poor. The poor? Has Grover ever thought of the poor even once?
But I digress. The biggest fraud this year is the Republican argument that, somehow, some way, President Obama is personally responsible for the approximately 23 million people who are unemployed or at least under-employed. Boy! Talk about a whopper! This has got to be the biggest lie I’ve ever seen from the Republicans. This lie is so big it makes those famed 18 missing minutes deleted from Nixon’s immortal Watergate tapes look like small potatoes by comparison.
Remember globalization? Remember 1992? When H. Ross Perot was warning us that, if the government fell for NAFTA, that we’d all hear “a giant sucking sound”? Turns out Perot was right. Right on the button.
The giant sucking sound is not Republicans sucking money out of your pocket—although that is completely possible—but the sound of millions of jobs going overseas because of globalization and free trade. The reason the WTO and other international business organizations wanted globalization and free trade so badly was because they knew, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that they could profit mightily by shipping jobs to countries that had better deals in terms of regulation and worker pay.
Worker pay was the biggest issue. And the American people have suffered, not because there’s something deadly wrong about the U. S. economy, but because our “self-interested” “job creators” have decided to create jobs somewhere else. Not here. Definitely not here. This is one reason why the retreads of Republicanism are arguing for a repeal of minimum wage legislation. So the “job creators” can be equal opportunity enslavers.
Isn’t that sweet?
For example, Obama and Biden have been out telling Americans that Obama is responsible for five million jobs this year simply because of the stimulus. And they’re right—in part. While America has created 1.7 million jobs in America, our “just wonderful” job creators have created an additional three million jobs—in China.
So. If you’re a die-hard Republican and you’ve drunk the Kool Aid they’ve been selling, think again. They’re lying to you. The people responsible for creating jobs have been creating them all right, but not in America.
Why the commercial media won’t tell you this is something to wonder about, isn’t it?
Another thing the commercial media isn't telling you is this: Our wonderful and magnanimous job creators are actually hiding up to $32 TRILLION in offshore accounts.
Now why would they be hiding money rather than creating jobs? Ask the Robo-Mitt about that.
