Yesterday, South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham wagged his tongue, yammered and shredded his clothing on NBC’s Meet the Press. It was something to see. I hope no one missed this display of politicization of tragedy.
Yes, by all means, if a group of terrorists attacks a U. S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, make a big, divisive issue out of it and give Al Qaeda a good laugh. By the time Graham was finished, I’m sure that somewhere in the world a few troglodyte terrorists were laughing so hard they wet their pants.
Where’s the show of unity here? Aren’t we supposed to be in a state of perpetual war against terrorism? Is this the sort of “manly” response America needs to display in the face of a horrific tragedy?
Graham is not alone with this. John “McRage” McCain, perhaps the most deluded of the bunch of crazies on the Republican right, the one Senator who believes he is the absolute, total, unequivocal expert on all things military because he managed to get shot-down over Hanoi during a bombing raid that took place almost 50 years ago, has also been barking like a goddamned dog about Benghazi.
Add to Graham and McCain, and we’ve got the entire right wing bubble machine pumping out all sorts of trash-talk over the tragedy in Benghazi. Apparently, when the Obama Administration’s Susan Rice literally reads the talking points handed her immediately after the attack, and when General David Petraeus goes on record exonerating Rice and Obama and everyone else at the U. S. State Department, it’s just not enough.
Why? Because there’s gold in them-thar political points Graham, McCain and Limbaugh and his team of flying monkeys are trying to make. Anything, even treason, goes when one can place the President of the United States in a bad light.
And I’m not kidding.
I would have liked to have seen the U. S. Government present a united front against this outrage. I would have liked to see partisan bickering end at the shoreline. But, nope. Not happening. Republicans in La La Land just have to make their points.
Let me put it this way. I have mentioned many times that I participate in several political chat groups on Facebook. We’ve got an immature wing-nut who’s been making so much noise about Benghazi that everyone simply ignores him.
We should ignore John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Rush Limbaugh and all the other idiot-heads who essentially are out to make Al Qaeda’s day.
How’s this look to the rest of the world? Sure. The Benghazi attack was a horrible event. Twenty minutes after the attack started the State Department got a text saying that all were safe in a safe room. Still, apparently that evidence is still not enough for the bubble-heads.
This yammering is interesting when seen in another light. The conservative movement as a whole is literally beside itself over how it possibly could have lost the 2012 Presidential election.
Take a look at yourselves, bozos. It’s plain for the entire world to see what you’re up to. Please stop. Stop now. You can stop.
We’ve already heard enough. Who needs Moamar Khaddafy when we've got idiots of our own?
