SHIT. I just noticed that the "Marineland Emperor" biowheel filter on my 40-gallon aquarium is NOT FUNCTIONING. One more little thing, you know? WTF is going on lately? "It's not the monkeys, it's the mosquitos."

There are only a handful of tiny fish left in the big aquarium. I guess the thing to do is to move them into the small 10-gallon aquarium which lives on the kitchen counter. That's cheaper than replacing the big filter at this time. 

I heard from someone at GMAC that my application for a lower interest rate on my house was approved, so that was definitely some good news. That could mean several hundred dollars more on hand each month. 

Kid #2 gets her braces on this afternoon. I am shitting bricks over that. I never had braces but they don't look like any fun. 

I had bought her a copy of a Star Wars video game that she'd asked for as a birthday present. It runs on the XBox 360. I intended to give it to her later to distract her from any discomfort. Then I remembered that Kid #1's XBox 360 croaked (it was a replacement when the FIRST one got the "Red Ring of Death" and had to be sent away for  repairs) and I'd moved the original XBox 360 out of Kid #2's room and into Kid #1's room. Sigh. 

It's hot. It's hot in the house. I have the AC set @ 78. Not that hot  yet. I don't have any appetite. None. I need to eat something.
