Random Thoughts on the Eve of the Iowa Caucuses:

The so-called Santorum surge is a joke. If the square root of the scrutiny that has previously been leveled on Perry, Paul, Cain, Bachmann, and, most recently and most savagely, Gingrich were brought to bear on Santorum, he'd plunge like a stone to the bottom of the ranks, which is exactly where he belongs.

Alan Colmes, who personifies the ignorance of liberals, was on FOX today attacking Santorum. He'll be lucky if he's not lynched by fellow Democrats for diminishing the Republican whom the Dems would most like to run against.

The fall of Gingrich is not totally tragic. Although he's clearly the bright one on the list, he has demonstrated a thin-skinness and a lack of humor that would probably make him an easy loser against the toothy, ever-so-cuddly, totally scripted  Obama.

Paul is indeed radical and out of touch. And, by the way, has anyone mentioned his age? The subject was all the rage when Reagan was running.

The debates performed a valuable function in showing that Cain and Perry are not quite ready.

As Sarah Palin intelligently observed, it would be great to collate a Republican candidate having the best of each contender. The Democrats have no such challenge. They're stuck with a candidate who easily combines the worst of everything—no experience, philosophical corruption, administrative cowardice and epic laziness. He'll be an easy victim of himself come the end of the year general election.

I have been catching bits and pieces of the 2012 election. I am also surprised the Ron Paul age question has not been brought up constantly as it was during the Reagan campaign. Ron Paul does sound like a good choice for getting the excess spending under control.
Here in the north, we are rewriting the constitution, calling for more accountability in our political officers. A task more easily accomplished when you have only 320,000 citizens!
Immigration is a topic that interests me, and I am glad to see that Dr Paul stands for tighter border control. We have a no nonsense immigration policy here. If you cannot contribute and assimilate, you cannot immigrate. If you are caught here illegally, including an expired visa, it's a quick deportation.
Sarah Palin's idea of finding a candidate with everyone's best attributes and talents is a fine one, hopefully that will come about in a late to the race candidate!
Here's to a wonderful new year, Dr. Osmond!
The fact that Dear Leader Obongo's approval rating is still above 40% gives me cause for concern in light of the Republican contenders.

I have the feeling that 2012 is going to suck out loud. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
I wouldn't discount Santorum. PA is a place that relates to the Heartland pretty well, warts and all.
The final paragraph is superb, starting with the satire of its opening phrase and proceeding to the reminder that the Democrats don't possess a candidate about whom they can brag.
I rather liked Bachmann's withdrawal speech. I think Santorum will soon follow in her footsteps--great initial success followed by a spiraling down.
Intelligent observation from Palin? Not so much Gordon. You disparage the word by using it to desribe anything she says or does.
Thanks for your stupid, ad hominem comment on Palin.
Actually, she's made three observations lately that have been admired by astute political commentators who take the time to think rather than thrash, but I won't waste them on you. Something about pearls comes to mind.
Palin is a plain and simple moron. Anyone that thinks otherwise is one as well. "Admired by astute political commentators". That's idiocy my friend.
Palin's popularity is greater than most Democrat politicians, so, according to your "logic," we've a lot of morons around.
Morons tend not to be state governors and vice-presidential candidates. You're just being silly, "my friend."
For quite a time now, I have been of the opine of anyone but Obama.

Yet I can't believe the Republicans field of candidates.
Mission, of course it is difficult to believe the Republican field. Nary a brain cell or heart in the bunch, with the possible exception of Romney. His prevarications indicate he at least has some political sense.
Such careful simple language used when describing the phat party. Not so much, filter wise on your President though.
