republican cavity search

I just read that racist email sent out by that Republican asshat (see link at right).

I don't know. I mean, Obama proved, apparently only to Democrats, how the next elections will be all about expanding/evolving new voting communities.

Unless they systematically, um, dump these guys -- and as Michael points out, the schmeckola resigned -- they are throwing away the Black voting bloc.

Of course they might make up for it, what with the Moron caucus and all. "Accidentally."

Makes me think. If Republicans can't simply admit it when they get the facts wrong, I mean, if they won't let themselves get to know themselves, how will they evolve a real relationship with any other, you know, selves? Black selves. Gay selves. Fashionable selves. Non-hysterical selves. Rational selves. 90% of the planet selves.

And how can they get to know themselves if they constantly deny reality? Like the truth about Abstinence?

Even, no, especially, in Texas?

What's so hard about this:

Big-Decisions-Poster-703934

Why is that not an acceptable compromise? I mean, is that really cramming secular degeneracy down someone's throat, as it were? To just, you know, tell the truth?

What is it about modern Republicans, how they can't accept basic human physiology? Abe Lincoln was a wrestler. Criminitly.

"Abe, you big log-splittter, you! Put me down!"

Is abstinence a property issue with these people?

Maybe this has something to do with it:

cooties

Won't someone please fake a scroll, someone really skilled at museum-quality forgery, and bury it in the horn of Africa? some Kushite cache, lost book of the Torah, on-beyond-apocrypha? And put in it all the common sense, decency, lovingkindness, and respect for reality missing from the extant judeo-christian fictions.

This is wonderful. Wish I were capable of museum quality forgery. If I were, I'd get busy on that scroll. I agree, it's sorely needed.

I keep hoping the Republicans will finally hit bottom and then start a twelve-step reality program for themselves: Something along the lines of "Neocon-Anon" Then they'll come back as reasonable people who have valid ideas about how to solve some of the common problems we face on this planet rather than continuing to be perpetual parts of the problem.
Maybe I talk too much. I'll just keep saying it anyway. Republicanism is a belief system. Practically every thing about its membership stems from belief. They can't be reached with reason. That is why it is so important to reach everyone else with reason. The modern Republican Party seduces with beliefs from cultural, to financial, to scientific. Check it out. You'll see.
LOL neocon-anon!

If they would just give up this idea that this is a Culture War that they Must Win, they might ACTUALLY win some arguments. With cases, facts, careful, logical, data-driven...sorry. I need to manage my expectations a little better.

If they would just shut-up and pay attention while the grown-ups fix things again...nope, they won't do that either.

If they would just asshat themselves into irrelevancy -- aha! THAT they can manage.
oyez, Bill. Yep. Faith is believin what you know ain't so, said Mark Twain, and how ironic that in those few words he defines the cynical strategists of the NeoConMen to a T. Using primitive religious beliefs to foment social unrest -- and preserve unfair corporate advantages -- ranks right up there with robber barony and colonial Toryism with all-time American villainy, traitorous to our ideals of fair play, opportunity, and progress.
This is priceless! You nailed it! I heard something about the repubs bitching about monies set aside for researching communicable diseases on PBS this afternoon and almost drove off the road. I am in disbelief at their arrogance. Rush is their leader, what does that tell you?
Greg, you are sooooo gonna burn for that last pic...
Their authoritarian belief system excludes the majority of Americans. They got away with disguising it in the recent past with flag burning amendments, balanced budget amendments, term limits, anything to distract from their one true belief: They ought to be in charge.
When the R's decided to sell their souls to the Religious Right in exchange for thirty pieces of silver and a few "safe" gerrymandered districts, they won the battle, but lost the war. Karl Rove's Permanent Republican Majority was based on the same principles of demonization as the Third Reich, and it met the same fate ironically in about the same time frame -- and arguably with the same awful consequences to a nation.

As for the Religious Right, finding a Lost Scroll of Truth would not sway them from their chosen path of willful ignorance. If Jesus Christ himself showed up on TV tonight and preached the New Sermon on the Mount, the Luddites would drag him from the studio and string him up again before he even finished his sermon. So let me finish if for him:

"Man was not made for The Law, but The Law was made for man."
By the way, don't know if you caught it, but conservative pundit Tucker Carlson was roundly booed at CPAC for daring to suggest that right-wing media should follow the lead of the NYT and at least try to get the facts right -- or failing that, at least spell names correctly.
Tom:

now that is very weird. dogs and cats living together weird. I try...no. i can't remotely associate Tucker with the good guys.

Anything is possible, i guess.

If they start getting their facts straight the right wing will have to re-define almost everything they believe and do.

I don't think conservative ideas are per se wrong. I don't think a real "conserve"-ative philosophy is per se wrong. What is green/sustainable, but small-c conservative values in action?

While i know Reagan demonized people on welfare with those cadillac queen et al lies; nonetheless LBJ's well-meaning ideas needed revamp. Workfare was an excellent re-think, under Clinton.

If Tucker's correct idea should prevail -- jeez that just isn't right somehow -- the Republicans would be a force again.
We have a new democrat congressman. Tom Periello, 5th district, Virginia. He's been in office for about a minute and a half and the RNC has been buying air time to call him a liar and a thief. (Before he was elected they were attacking him for being a New York Lawyer--a lie, and that he's part African American, not true) They sense he's vulnerable because the election was close so they are trying to cut him down before he can even find his office.

Welcome to the New America.
