In MITT'S Opinion: his business experience is actually the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the country needs!
Mitt Romney has been touting for quite a long time now that his main qualification to be president is his business experience and turnaround prowess! So it is very surprising to learn about how he actually went about turning those business’ around, which was mainly by leveraging them to the hilt and piling on debt to boost profits and revenues in the short term. This is a very effective way to revitalize a company that's floundering and not at all uncommon! Knowing that, it is VERY VERY confusing to hear him talk about his business acumen being the definitive reason he should be president, because he absolutely does not believe that stimulus and spending more money and acquiring more debt in the short term will help 'turnaround' our economy, the way it 'helped' to turn around so many of the businesses he worked with at Bain.
So if his own experience tells him that that is the most effective way to turn around a company yet totally incorrect when it comes to helping our national economy then what qualifying experience is he talking about? It sounds like his experiences (in his opinion) are the EXACT opposite of what our economy needs right now? HMMMM…..
P.S. Mitt Romney has also used this same excuse for his main achievement as a governor (which he doesn’t tout at all as a qualification to be president) stating that his Mass. Healthcare Plan wouldn’t work as a national initiative, so it seems as if (in Mitt’s opinion) there is truly no correlation between anything he has done or is willing to talk about and being president, NONE!
QUICK THOUGHT !!
Probably the strangest and most frustrating thing that I have encountered while closely following and writing about politics, is that people partake in very little opinion forming on their own anymore. (people as a whole really although the right definitely follows and reiterates thier opinion leaders proclamations a lot closer than the left does) A lot of us blindly let cable news, newspapers, or blogs formulate our opinons for us then we fight and argue with people like we thought long and hard, researched, and wrote a 600 page nonfiction book about the issue (not like its something they just read on brietbart.com or watched on Fox News or MSNBC 5 mins ago!)
So I encourage everyone who’s really engaged in politics whether you blog or just like to sit and ponder deep political thought ;-) to try to not just regurgitate different variations of articles or commmentary you may have read or heard earlier in the day, but to honestly think about the multifarious aspects of politics that don’t get enough coverage, trust me its just as easy to find something that truly pisses OFF, as it is to find something someone told you that you should be mad about! That said thanks for reading yet another commentary on Mitt Romney and Bain ;-) hahahah…
