The song, “Over the Rainbow” comes over my computer...and for a few sweet moments it’s tough for me to focus on work. My mind goes to us in your car, listening to Over the Rainbow, singing along with it, singing until we decide to get out, Hayley in the backseat, making funny faces to our sentimentality. Or is it just my own?
Makes me think of the dinner the three of us had; kirtan singing on the stereo and you and me singing along with it...’twas when I first began to think that maybe you’re “the one...” Are you? Why did you tell me last night that you haven’t slept with anyone since me, several months ago, in fact, almost half a year ago? Do you have plans to be celibate? Or are you trying to tell me something (mysteriously hidden), as you hold me in your arms, up against your naked, most beautifully hairy chest?
Now you want to make love. I had thought, before I came over, that we were done with this part of our relationship. Yet hugging you tonight felt so nice, and when I suggested making your knees feel better at my place, your elation felt so wonderful. Was it just the sex thingy?...That really wasn’t my idea.
And did I know when you told me you were moving yourself so that you wouldn’t “poke” me, what you were talking about, initially? I didn’t, innocent as that sounds. And you do seem to make me so wet and I do seem to make you so hard. That almost makes it a dunk slam...almost.
Yet when you say certain things to me and they resonate, and then when I tell you that, you know exactly which words I am talking about (“Be here now”)...it’s almost eerie. Yet...no. You and I are birds of a feather in so many ways.
And of course in the end, “Be here now” slays and invites me...and our sweetness is (as you tell me, later, after, after the fact, in the innocent darkness, over dampened sheets waaay early in the morning) “in the air, do you smell it?”...in the aromatically scented air around us, in us and all over us. yes...yes...ohyesss, i do.
