It’s been a few months since I packed up the truck and moved all the way over to Open Salon from MySpace. My early success has been overwhelming, roughly a 300% readership increase to the 32 readers I have now.
Hey you, DogBlog loyalists, thank you! It means so much to me to have this little corner, this little…salon…where we can gather, 32 humans and one dog, to tackle the issues of the day.
I have had fleeting glimpses of fame and fortune from this perch. I once was a member of a pirate wimmen insurrection until I made an untoward remark (it was a joke, I swear, a joke) about Emma Peel and was made to walk the plank. After swimming to shore, an interval during which I had ample time to reflect on my actions, I concluded that grown-up human social life was beyond my pay grade (which is zero).
I had my piece on cellphone radiation (see my sidebar links) go viral and receive more than 30,000 reads. I calculated that at my reader rate of 32 reads per post, it will take ten years of daily weekday blogging to reach that readership again.
Thanks most of all to my 6 commenters. Damon, blittie, tg, C.G.N, David, and Damon, you guys rock!
Truth is, I couldn’t bring myself to carry on without your random fandom, abashed as it is. I know you are too shy to push the ratings button—don’t want to be featured on the feed for everyone to see…”STEVE BLEVIN RATED THE POST WHY DID GOD GIVE PEOPLE PUBIC HAIR.” I can understand that, but I know you are out there. Lurking, Steve.
So, on a Monday with nothing else to say, I’ll say it all: Thanks! You are all the audience a gal could ever want!
Lurve,
