Reflections Japanese (w/Haiku!) (Photo Essay)

After seeing a photo of a reflection in the waters of the Fort Worth Japanese Garden I was inspired to try my own hand at a series of watery reflections. I picked a mostly overcast day with the sun only occasionally peeking through to give me the best light. There was an unusual serenity to be found in the garden's lightly ruffled water. I hope I captured some of that feeling.

With my new long range lens I hoped to get some shots not possible before, trying some different angles and zoom shots.

As the speakers announced the imminent closure for the day I found myself wishing to bed down and surrender to the stillness away from a world gone mad. On a planet of stranded and disconnected souls nature provides her strings and strands inviting us to reconnect once again. It's not our military that can protect us, only reconnecting can do that.

Silent, lost treasures slumber,
Life's ancient secrets.

I came, I saw, I surrendered.
These are fabulous! You caught an entire world of this wonderful kind of non-reality. Things change shape and I get this feeling I'm upside down too. I loved this. Now, take a short break, and get back to shooting! /R
This gave me a true moment of zen today . . . thank you, harry-san.
Glad you liked it, nilesite! There's more pics at the link at the bottom.

Owl! Glad to zen you up! If you're ever this way I'll have to drag you out there.

How lovely and serene. I needed this visual and poetic calm - thank you!
Your pleasure is my pleasure, Alysa :)
