Who is Marc Andreessen?

Rate: 6 Flag

marc andreessen

Marc Andreesson is the most famous person you've never heard of but chances are if you own a computer and use the internet Marc has influenced your life in some way.
And if you are wondering what the future may look like in 5,10,20 years then you should watch this video.  In fact if you only watch one video this year this is the one I would reccommend.
If you have designs on becoming the next internet genius and wondering how to do it...watch this video.  Or if you have a start-up that needs money Marc is starting his own venture capital fund.

Did I mention you should watch this video?

Here's the two minute version.

Here's the full interview.

thanks for the post. ok, two things:

1) being a techno-geek, I do know who Andreesen is, but hadn't seen this interview or kept up with him lately
2) I caught some very interesting snippets, but am not likely to watch the whole thing - maybe you could give us some highlights for jumping off? here are a couple I picked up in my brief viewing

newspapers should stop printing
cool discussion of the iPhone as a game-changer

the rest is all you, buddy
lsp...good point. just added the 2 minute version.

Nobody will pay attention to this post but if they only knew what this guy was musing about like it being a good thing for Newspapers to stop printing they might be surprised.
I enjoy coffee and the paper...can't imagine it gone.
Charlie Rose rocks. He has a way of finding the people who matter most.
I listened to a lot of this when it was first posted and I mostly thought the guy was a blowhard. Charlie Rose definitely pointed out some of the flaws in his newspaper argument. Not everything he said was wrong or questionable, but I have heard any number of people like him talk over the past few years and a lot of the things they say never come to pass or if they do, they fail.
Emma...The newspaper chatter is hard to swallow but certainly not hard to imagine. Point is this guy is affecting your life right now and in ways that you are not even aware. He developed the Netscape browser upon which Bill Gates built Internet Explorer...which changed the world.
Like it or not he is pushing us into the next generation...real time computing and will soon have the planet connected. Just somebody to watch.
What a keen mind he has. An important reminder about his place in history, and why he deserves it. He still Gets It.
It looks to me like his skull kept expanding to accommodate his bigger brains.
