Snow on the lilacs

An early bloom this year

anxious to get going

new reasons from an old premise

old enough for lichen to take hold

a synthesis of ideas forming on the surface

one word for the color and the scent and the flower and the tree

unbowed

darts of shaved ice, rattling the blossoms to life

old and new branches will miss the bees

one will miss the saw

Nature has a habit of surprising the early blooms, doesn't she?

"One will miss the saw" - there's a lot in that one line. A well-packed poem.

Why did it get a pass from everyone?
Thanks for commenting Sam. I see you finally got few yourself. I don't know why no one else read this. Maybe because I didn't have "ass" in the title. As you found out, that works like a charm.
Best wishes
Pity that the only culture some here have found is in a yogurt container.

You should write more poetry. You have a most unique manner of expression, and a painterly way of saying what you wish to say.
love this. I'd say more, but my eyelid is drooping -- the shot seems to have paralyzed my eyebrow. :(
Someone put me onto your blog, and I am glad they did. I love this poem. Have you heard of the PP Awards? R-
