Weed in the yard? Take a closer look...

Rate: 8 Flag

White3

I took a moment today to look more closely at the "weeds" in my yard.  They are really lovely.  I know what a few of them are, but if there are any botany buffs out there who can tell me for sure, I'd appreciate it.

Weeds indeed!!! When I was 4 I gave my mother a bouquet of dandelions and she laughed and told me they were just weeds. I'm a defiant little cuss. I have been honoring weeds ever since! Most definitely, most CERTAINLY ~r!
these are gorgeous! i posted an almost identical one today, go check it out. the last one looked like dogwood? the sixth one (yellow) we have here in texas, but i don't know its name. post an update if you find out their names, okay?
is the daisy looking one a chamomile? Does it smell really good when you crush it?
all of them are pretty, one person's weed is another person's native ;) my neighbor has got a whole yard filled with violets and I know they are invasive, but I don't care, I wish those spread into my yard as well as his dandelions do. I'm growing clover this year too- I hope the yard police don't give me a ticket for it, because i want something short and pretty- tired of grass, it's ugly.
These are lovely. the 7th one is my favorite, like Little Shop of Horrors, looks like it might smile.
Florida has weeds much more beautiful than the rest of us in other areas. Thank you.
The first one is dollar weed and at least two others are purslane. No place has weeds like we do in FL.
Simply elegant and beautiful. I love the wild flowers. In the spring it is a sight to see them all along the country roads, woods, and fields, by the masses. Nature's Garden I always call it.
The girls and I used to pick them and put around in the house. I have no idea what they are all called, I just know I have always loved the wild flowers. Thank you for such a beautiful post and all the memories that you brought to my mind.
Your weeds are much prettier than mine.
