I had planned to read the whole story and make it available in three free podcasts. Unfortunately, when it came to reading the foreign characters' dialogue, I ran into 'Top Gear' style difficulties. My rendition of the Japanese girl's accent was a little too reminiscent of Mickey Rooney's performance in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I couldn't work out how to do the men's voices convincingly at all. I kept thinking, What would Sir Ian McKellen do? And I realised I had no idea. I suppose that four years at drama school and twenty years in show business might give me a hint - but it's too late for all that now.
